The Seattle Seahawks are slowly making their move towards the playoffs, which is incredible considering how much they have had to deal with since the end of last season. However, after a solid road victory against the Detroit Lions, Seattle would be a playoff team if the season ended today, which is a testament to Russell Wilson and what he can do for a ballclub.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Seahawks may have lost their Legion of Boom moniker, but this unit is playing hard each and every week. Sure, Earl Thomas flipped off his teammates after getting injured, but those on the field have really rallied around one another, and have this team pointed in the right direction.

When it comes time for Seattle to draft in the first round next year, they could be picking anywhere from No. 15-23. They are a borderline playoff team, and regardless of where they pick, they need to add a player who can fill the role at safety left void by the injury to Thomas, and the fact his contract is up.

One player who plays safety that could go in the first round is Taylor Rapp, who has been a playmaker for nearby Washington during his college career. He is used to playing in the Pacific Northwest, and on the Seahawks, he would be a guy who could come in and make an impact right away.
