The Cincinnati Bengals are a team that should make the playoffs this season, but may not do much once they get there. Sure, that has been the MO for the Bengals since Marvin Lewis became the head coach, and if they do lose in the first round of the playoffs, assuming they get there, it should be Lewis’ last go-around with the team.

Regardless, the Bengals have the talent on both sides of the ball to win the AFC North, though they are most likely headed towards a Wild Card spot. They are just too inconsistent from week to week, and they nearly blew another lead this past weekend, as they almost fell victim to Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers late.

Still, they won the game, and currently find themselves in a playoff spot, and would be picking late in round one if the season ended today. The Bengals need help on the defensive side of the ball, as they have no only some aging guys over there, but also some who need to be let go after the season, like linebacker Vontaze Burfict.

If they do get rid of Burfict, who is more of a headache than anything else, they should draft a player like Mack Wilson from Alabama in the first round. Wilson has been a key on a dominant defense in Alabama for years now, and with the Bengals, he is good enough, and smart enough to lead the linebacker group in year one.
