2019 NFL Mock Draft: Justin Herbert heads to Giants
By Brad Weiss
The Cleveland Browns were in the news on Monday, as they finally fired head coach Hue Jackson. After winning only three games in his two-plus seasons at the helm in Cleveland, the current brass had seen enough, as they not only let Jackson go, but also his offensive coordinator, Todd Haley.
It is no big secret that Haley and Jackson did not get along, and now they have to start from scratch when it comes to the head coach position. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams will take over for Jackson on an interim basis, as the team looks for head coach No. 2 for rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield.
The rookie signal-caller has looked like a rookie in recent weeks, but fellow 2018 first round pick Denzel Ward has not. Ward has been incredible from his cornerback position, playing like a seasoned vet, and now the team should go out and get him some help at the position heading into next season.
Andraez Williams from LSU is the best cornerback in this draft class, and the Browns would be wise to use their early first round pick on him next April. Teaming Williams with Ward would give the team an elite tandem moving forward, as they continue to get better on the defensive side of the ball.
