Players costing $6,250 or under

JaVale McGee (vs DAL – $5,700): Needs 26.6 fantasy points. McGee has cooled down a bit, which was to be expected. His salary has dipped, but he’s still the best center option on the Lakers and he plays big minutes. He should continue to get big minutes as the Lakers search for an answer against Jordan. Diagnosis: Ceiling has dropped, but he gets big minutes has become reliable at this salary.

Jarrett Allen (vs DET – $5,300): Needs 24.7 fantasy points. Allen had 39 fantasy points against the Pistons on Oct. 17. The Pistons are on a back-to-back and Allen figures to see plenty of minutes as they matchup against Drummond and Griffin. I still don’t like the Pistons defense and while the return of Hollis-Jefferson cuts into Allen’s value, he’s solid at this salary. Diagnosis: Reliable option with proven value in this matchup.

Wendell Carter Jr (vs DEN – $4,900): Needs 22.8 fantasy points. Carter Jr has been over 30 fantasy points in his last two games. Maybe he’s turning things around or maybe he’s just a rookie who is on a bit of a hot stretch right now and will cool off at a moments notice. As always, rookies are untrustworthy, but Carter Jr is playing well and getting minutes. Diagnosis: Hot, but inconsistent.
