DraftKings Early CFB picks November 3: Crazy games in the ACC
DraftKings has a nice ten game slate for us to choose from in the main Saturday slate again. Many of the elite quarterbacks are off of this slate, but there is still plenty of good offense to work with here. There are at least a half dozen truly horrible defenses on this slate, so expect the cash line to be enormous.

My early lineups last Saturday did well. Two crossed the money line of 173.05 with ease. The other missed by less than a point. Each one of those lineups had a receiver that didn’t catch a pass in it. Building around D’Eriq King was the winning formula.
The scoring for NCAA football is much the same as it is for the NFL with one notable exception: the super flex! That means aside from the flex position which is RB/WR, you can add another player from any position! Want four running backs? Go right ahead! Five wide receivers? Sure! Two quarterbacks? Of course! Just stay under the salary cap! There is also late swap, which is essential for contests with start times spanning several hours.

Top Tier:
I see the logic in paying up for Dwayne Haskins in what is going to be a high scoring game against Nebraska. However, I see better value farther down. I will have a little exposure to Haskins, but only in lineups where I also have Eric Dungey. The Wake defense is terrible. They have no gap discipline, can’t tackle, and are slow. They are as bad as I make it sound. I promise.
The value of Dungey and the upside of Haskins is chasing me off of Will Grier, despite the nice matchup with Texas. Nice isn’t going to take this down. You need to hit big on the quarterback again this week to even have a chance. However, the chance of Tommy DeVito stealing snaps keeps me from going fully loaded on Dungey.
I probably love Trevor Lawrence most in this tier. Louisville’s defense gave up 56 last week to another true freshman quarterback who is far less talented and has less talent around him. The only question here is how much will the Clemson starters actually play.
Middle Tier:
Tobias Oliver appears to have taken over at Georgia Tech, and the offense has taken off. He gouged a Virginia Tech defense that usually doesn’t let that happen to them.
Ohio State’s defensive numbers still look pretty good, but they wont after this. Adrian Martinez is healthy and has revitalized the Nebraska offense. There is blowout potential here, but I’m not worried about it this year. I think Nebraska stays pretty close, and the arm and legs of Martinez will be why.
I don’t know that I will move down any farther here, but Tyler Huntley is a truly acceptable play against a poor Arizona State defense.
Bargain Shoppers:
Jake Bentley has huge sleeper potential against an Ole Miss defense that has been terrorized by even the bottom teams in the SEC. I like Charlie Brewer if he plays, but I hope he doesn’t so we can use Jalan McClendon. McClendon’s skill set is better suited to making the Oklahoma State defense look terrible. They will if McClendon starts.
If you are ever going to trust Feleipe Franks again, it’s here. Missouri’s pass defense is the worst in the SEC, which is saying quite a bit with teams like Ole MIss and Arkansas allowing chunk play after chunk play. I love Franks as a value play here.
Top Tier:
Eno Benjamin was huge last week, but there is no way I’m using him against that Utah defense. Just like there is no way I’m using Snell against Georgia. Especially when you have Travis Etienne and Zack Moss with great matchups. I do like Etienne’s better, but the issue here is the massive blowout potential. Not that I expect Arizona State to stay close to Utah, but they will be in the game longer than Louisville is against Clemson.
Keontay Ingram is the lead back in Texas now, and has sleeper potential against West Virginia. The possibility that Texas will have to pass to keep up is likely going to push me off this, especially with a strong middle tier.
Middle Tier:
Matt Colburn was a monster against Louisville, and should have at least some success against Syracuse. I would bet that Colburn is only about half of last week’s total, but I’ll take 23 DraftKings points for the price.
It is criminal how loaded this middle tier is. Devine Ozigbo will be in precisely 100% of my lineups against Ohio State. I love the matchup for Justice Hill against Baylor as well. This will be my favorite RB pairing of the week, but it’s hard to ignore Dobbins against Nebraska’s terrible run defense or Cade Carney against a struggling Syracuse front.
Bargain Shoppers:
Lost on the success of Oliver at Georgia Tech is just how much better Jordan Mason has been with him in the field. If you use any offensive player from Georgia Tech besides Oliver, it needs to be Mason, especially for the price.
Down here we mostly have good backs in bad matchups. One of those situations, at least on paper, is that of Lamical Perine. Snell did pretty well against Missouri. Perine should in this price tier as well.
It’s hard not to like the big play ability of Maurice Washington against a team that has been repeatedly torched like Ohio State, but he is strictly a GPP only dart since he really isn’t even in a timeshare with Ozigbo yet.
That’s not the case at Syracuse, where Dontae Strickland is listed as a co-starter with Moe Neal. Both are going to get good work against a bad Wake D. I prefer Strickland because of the huge discount though.
Top Tier:
Tylan Wallace was a monster against Texas, and will be against Baylor as well. The only other thing as sure as that is Greg Dortch for Wake Forest. Wallace has more upside, but Dortch has a great floor.
I don’t trust anyone in the West Virginia offense for their prices because Grier throws the ball around so much, but if you are looking for a repeat of Wallace’s against Texas, you have to target David Sills.
The only Arizona State player I trust on a weekly basis is N’Keal Harry. The Sun Devils know what they have in Harry, and always seem to get him involved no matter the matchup. The same is true for Jalen Hurd. Hurd has more upside this week though.

Middle Tier:
Good luck deciding which Texas receiver to use against West Virginia, but the Parris Campbell vs. Nebraska is a cut and dry case. Actually, so is KJ Hill even with his elevated price. On the other side of the ball, it has been Stanley Morgan that has torched the last two opponents after Speilman set a Nebraska receiving yards record, again, against the Badgers. You have to go Morgan for a core play here, but Spielman is a strong option as well.
Britain Covey has a dream matchup against the Sun Devils, but I think I prefer the pivot to Deebo Samuel because of the upside. If Bentley starts throwing in this game, at least half the balls are going to go the way of Deebo.
Bargain Shoppers:
I love the value on both Van Jefferson and Freddie Swain against the terrible Missouri defense.
People-Jones has become the big play guy for Michigan. It’s worth betting that Penn State will give up at least one chunk play in this game. It’s an even better bet to say it’s going to be Peoples-Jones who makes said big play.
Nykeim Johnson is rolling against North Carolina teams. He scorched them for 53.2 DraftKings points over the past two weeks. Now he gets the worst of the three, at least defensively, in Wake.
