High Salary PF
Players costing over $6,250
Anthony Davis (at POR – $11,600): Needs 53.9 fantasy points. Davis returned to the lineup against the Warriors and didn’t quite look right. His numbers were done and returning against the Warriors is never an easy time. Davis destroyed the Blazers last season, so even though this is a back-to-back, this is a good matchup for him. With a game under his belt, I expect him to look a little better. Diagnosis: High salary, but you typically know what you’re getting with Davis. Great matchup historically.
Danilo Gallinari (at PHI – $6,500): Needs 29.7 fantasy points. Gallinari is nothing if not reliable. His ceiling might be limited compared to other high salary guys, but it’s not like Gallinari is costing you a fortune and he’s routinely around 35 fantasy points. The scoring continues to be there and even when it’s not, he’s making up value in other areas. Diagnosis: Reliable option who won’t cost much. Has big game potential with his scoring.
Jayson Tatum (vs MIL – $6,300): Needs 28.8 fantasy points. Tatum has cooled off a bit from his hot start as the Celtics begin to settle in a Kyrie Irving remembers he’s one of the best scorers in the league. But if Brown is out, Tatum will be tasked with doing more. And we know he’s capable of doing so. Diagnosis: I like him to have a big scoring night while chipping in elsewhere to boost his value. Higher ceiling than Gallinari but not as consistent.
