NFL FanDuel Week 9 #OffTheCuff Fantasy Football Playbook

Top of the morning/afternoon/evening! I am your man Johnny Espizito, and This is your, NFL FanDuel Week 8 #OffTheCuff playbook.

#OffTheCuff or #OTC for short, is my way giving you something different for NFL FanDuel Week 9 from the normal touts and stats you dig up week in, and week out for FanDuel.

I tell people all the time, it’s not all about the numbers baby!

My job, is to show you why!

Let’s Dive right in shall we!?

NFL FanDuel Week 9 – The Offensive Line

This week, I’m loving the Vikings O-Line vs Lions.

Obviously, this Juicy match up benefits Kirk Cousins and Latavius Murray. Grant it, Murray is not my most favorite RB in the world, but the Lions, are ranked 31st against the Run and are in for a loooooong game!

The Vikes O-Line is leaps and bound better than the Lions Defensive front. With Dalvin Cook STILL out, locking in Murray is a good idea. Game wise, I think Diggs will be heckled in coverage, so that will open it up for the white-hot Adam Thielen. We’ll get into that in a minute though!

Lamar Miller

Lamar has had a nice little resurgence as of late. 2 straight games with 100+ yards and a TD to match. The Broncos are ranked 27th against the run, and have been getting gashed. The Texans O Line is looking better and better. They’re sealing better and getting good pushes up into teams Level 2, which we all know helps out  the RB. So, I’m liking this spot as well.

*Quick reminder*

The O-Line is IMPORTANT! Without them, your QB has no time to check down, pass (so he can make those pricey WR’s look good) or hand off to the RB. The RB has nowhere to go, jersey’s will be all around him and plug the run. They are vital. So, when building your lines, remember to ask yourself, “How’s their O-Line”?

NFL Week 9 – The QB

Cam Newton

Will DEFINITELY be a favorite this week. He’s in an absolute smash spot and should go OFF against the trash Tampa Bay defense. Not only are the Bucs ranked 31st against the pass, the “thing” that we all know as “TE vs Bucs” is in play for Olsen this week. With Norv Turner at the helm, the Panthers Offense is looking better and better. As of right now, Cam is carrying a Questionable tag, but I think it’s safe to say he suits up and gets busy this week.

NFL Week 9 – The Running Backs

Lamar Miller/Latavius Murray

As I mentioned above, I love these 2 spots. Of course, nothing is guaranteed in DFS, but I think these are some good spots that don’t involve the “top” options.

*#OffTheCuff Dart*

Isaiah Crowell

Gets the Miami Dolphins this week. The Dolphins have surrendered over 1,000 yards to the RBs during the first half of the season. SHEEEEESH!!! That’s staggering. So, with Powell being done for the season, Crowell should man the backfield. His run style is perfect for this match up as well.

BTW…Yes

Kareem Hunt is a great play. As is Christian McCaffrey. Both have smash spots, but in true #OTC fashion, my job is to give you the plays people won’t be on as heavy.

NFL Week 9 – The WR’s

Adam Thielen

We have all seen what this man is doing! He’s hands down, one of he best WRs playing right now. Multiple 100 yard games. THAT, is not the reason why I’m on him though. He has a fantastic match up this week vs The !Lions. I think Diggs will draw Slay’s coverage. Which would put a lesser DB on Thielen. To me, that smells like money

Calvin Ridley

With Don Julio on being on a TD strike, Ridley is my guy this week. I PERSONALLY, do not care for Josh Norman as a player, but I will no discredit him professionally. When he “shadows” players, production takes a hit. Norman will likely be on Julio. IF THAT IS THE CASE, Ridley is in fact, the man this week in this game.   Slot WRs vs LBs? YES PLEASE!

D.J. Moore

Is becoming one of Cam Newton’s favorite targets.Let me be clear, I will always love my guy Funchess, forever #GoBlue … But, he is not a natural WR to me. He is a natural TE and I believe THAT is where he would flourish. As a WR he can be caught. His speed does not separate him from fast CBs. Enter, D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel. Samuel is a speed guy, and is a viable option as well. But, I’ll be on Moore vs this terrible Bucs defense.

NFL Week 9 – The Tight End and Defense

Greg Olsen

“TEs vs TB” is a “thing” as I stated above. So Olsen, is pretty much a lock, but will be CHALKY.

Travis Kelce

Gets the Browns, who have just fired everyone except the concession stand workers. They’re upside down right now, and with the Chiefs rolling into town, it’s going to get ugly. Kelce is a match up NIGHTMARE for any team. Yes, Tyreek Hill practiced in full yesterday, but that groin injury shouldn’t be taken lightly. With the focus on trying to bottle him up, the rest of the Chiefs weapons will be roaming freely. I think Kelce benefits more than anyone. So, I will have my exposure!

Defense –

Bills:  Are interesting this week. Yea, they’re prone to giving it up to RBs a bit, but for the most part, they’re good against the pass. I like Mitch as a QB, but I think he will have an OK day. Nothing to crazy. Be mindful of Kevin White though!

Bears: Are also in a good spot. Overall, It should be a low scoring game, so both defenses are viable to me.
