Sit Matt Ryan

With how good Ryan has been this year, and six teams idle, sitting him might not be palatable. But in two outdoor games this year, against the Eagles and the Steelers, he put up a total of 23.2 fantasy points (ESPN scoring).

Dating back to his last five outdoor games, Ryan has five total touchdowns and two interceptions with more than 20 fantasy points once.

If you leave out Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints, when Drew Brees had 363 yards and three touchdowns, an opposing quarterback has needed rushing production to top 20 fantasy points (ESPN scoring) in a game against the Washington Redskins so far this season.

Even Aaron Rodgers had 13 rushing yards back in Week 3, to give him 19.9 fantasy points. They also shored up one weakness on their defense at the trade deadline this week, with the acquisition of safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix from the Packers.

The Falcons playing outdoors, his downturn in games coming off a bye and a good Redskins’ defense puts Ryan in consideration for fantasy benches. It would be bold to do, but Alex Smith on the other side of the field Sunday is shaping up as a solid streaming option if you also have Ryan.
