Some big names could soon be fired in college football. Here are the coaches on the hot seat that need a victory in Week 10.
The double digits have arrived for weeks of college football in the 2018 season. As Week 10 rolls around, itās a reminder that the final push for each program has begun and soon their fates will be settled. For those coaches on the hot seat, theyāre hoping for mercy and patience.
While there was a firing in college football with Maryland this week and D.J. Durkin, it was certainly not a result of anything to do with the performance of the program on the field. Therefore, the real first big firing due to actual coaching is around the corner.
The beginning of the year sees a lot of shuffling on the hot seat. By this point, the coaches that are fighting for their jobs each week are known and the hot seat is pretty much set in stone. Here are five coaches that need a win in Week 10.

5. Soon to be fired
The alums of the hot seat list this season have been Larry Fedora and Chris Ash. Soon they will graduate to being fired officially and North Carolina and Rutgers can begin the search for their next head coaches.
The Tar Heels have just one win to their total this season and six losses. Unless they win out, which they wonāt, theyāre not going to become bowl eligible. Whatās going to be worth watching, or not, at this point is whether or not they top the three wins they had last season.
Regardless, Fedoraās not seeing the end of the extension he signed last year. As for Chris Ash and Rutgers, theyāre stuck in one of the toughest divisions in football and are also completely terrible as well.
Itās going to take a special coach to turn Rutgers around or show any signs of promise and Ash isnāt it. The future of Rutgers playing in the Big Ten East is something that really needs to be examined.
