NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Friday November 2nd, 2018

I hope you all found time to dress up and eat some candy, Reese’s of course. Almond Joy is unacceptable! We are back with another NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes for you daily fantasy players. We at FantasyCPR will have you covered with some snipes for tonight’s two game slate.

Each post will provide a quick recap of players discussed in previous articles. Success is the clear goal, but it is important to understand our misses as well. See if we can find those trends that work, and areas we can improve.

There was a ton of action on the 12 game slate last night. I’ll give a brief recap below of some of the major events. So if I leave out your team, don’t be too upset! We had one shut out on the night as back up goalie for the Oilers, Mikko Koskinen earned the win against the Blackhawks. Drake Caggiula played great once again on the top line with Connor McDavid and came in at just $3,500 on DraftKings. Winnipeg took down the Panthers in the afternoon in Finland as Patrik Laine put on a show in front of his fans with a hat trick. The Islanders took down the Penguins in a shoot out. However, Dominik Simon of the Pens started a goal streak that is now at two! The underdog at home Red Wings beat the Devils 4-3 as Dylan Larkin had two assists. 19-year old Michael Rasmussen also scored a goal to make that two games in a row. Montreal broke a record tonight for scoring the quickest two goals. Max Domi scored a goal with 32 seconds left to give them a 5-4 lead. The Capitals pull their goalie, and as the face off is dropped, Montreal grabs it and fires it half way down the ice in two seconds. Matthew Tkachuk had a nice night last night with the assist hat trick.

Okay a little longer than I thought, but it really was an exciting night of hockey! Tomorrow’s slate is smaller with only three games, and one of them is early. The focus will be on the two later games.

NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Centers

Nathan MacKinnon Avalanche ($8,100)

It is hard to pass on a high-powered offense with the highest implicated goals scored of the two games. MacKinnon leads the charge as the Avs can put up points in bunches. It will likely be a chalky play to stack the top line, so fade at your own risk. I like this line as a cash play tonight.

MacKinnon has fallen into a tie 3rd place in goals with nine however only trails the leaders by two. Mac is trying to solidify himself as an elite player in the league after scoring 39 goals last year.

Alex Galchenyuk Coyotes ($5,600)

Gally has delivered in his last three games. On the 30th, he had a goal and an assist. the two games prior he had an assist. Since joining the Coyotes, he has taken over top line duties and centers the first power play unit. Let’s pair him with his line mate Keller and see if they can continue their hot streak.

NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Wingers

Jake Virtanen Canucks ($3,600)

Virtanen is one of those cheap options tonight with scoring ability. He put up two goals against Corey Crawford of the Blackhawks the other night. He is up to five goals and two assists. Although he plays on the teams third line, he has earned time with the second power play unit.

Mikko Rantanen Avalanche ($7,000)

Rantanen is a great stack option with MacKinnon. Of course, if you can somehow fit Gabriel Landeskog in there do not hesitate. But Rantanen is the cheaper of the two leaving you some cash use in another spot.

Rantanen is the current point leader with 21 on five goals and 16 assists. Obviously you want goals, but in such a small slate we are chasing points and Rantanen has been the best thus far.

Clayton Keller Coyotes ($6,000)

The Coyotes were one of the hottest teams the last two weeks of October. Let’s see if they can continue that strong run in November. Keller is a major piece of the Yotes offensive success. I expect them to come out strong and attack Scott Darling. Keller and his 66.7% offensive zone starts and first power play unit placement is a huge positive in tonight’s match up.

NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Defense and Goalies

Samuel Girard Avalanche ($3,800)

Girard stands out to me as a top line blue-liner that gets even strength time with the MacKinnon, Rantanen and Landeskog. Although he doesn’t receive much time with them on the power play, he still gets time with the second power play unit. At this extremely low price, he may be higher on my list than Tyson Barrie who is $1,500 more expensive.

Philipp Grubauer Avalanche ($7,700)

The Avs have the -135 edge over the Canucks according to Vegas Odds. That has slightly better odds than the other game. So to chase a win, I like Grubauer based more on the offense he has in front of him than his actual ability to cover the net. Although his numbers are solid with a 3-1 record and 5.5 FPPG.

Antti Raanta Coyotes ($8,200)

Raanta comes in as the highest priced goalie on the slate. Rotogrinders projects this game to be the lower scoring of the two with both teams below three goals. Raanta has been great so far with a 1.99 GAA and a .926 SV%.
