NFL DraftKings Early November 4 Slate: 3 QB-WR Stacks
By Bill Pivetz
Here are three quarterback and wide receiver stacks worth using to score big in your NFL DraftKings lineup this week.
With six teams on a bye in Week 9, the early slate of games has just seven matchups. The pool of players is the most shallow it’s been to start the season. This makes constructing a competitive NFL DraftKings lineup more difficult this week. If you are looking to score big in the early slate, here are three quarterback-wide receiver stacks worth investing it.
The seven games in the early slate feature CHI/BUF, TB/CAR, KC/CLE, NYJ/MIA, PIT/BAL, DET/MIN and ATL/WAS. There are a couple of matchups that could lead to a lot of fantasy points and a couple that could end 10-3. Don’t be wary if a team is getting blown out early. That could lead to a lot of garbage-time points for the losing team.
Here are the three combinations you should use in your NFL DraftKings lineup.
Kirk Cousins and Adam Thielen, MIN
These two top my list for Week 9. Thielen has been the best and most consistent wide receiver in fantasy football this season. He has recorded at least 100 receiving yards in every game this season and has a touchdown in six of those eight games.
That would have been enough to warrant using these two. However, to make my point strong, the Minnesota Vikings face the Detroit Lions. The Lions defense ranks 24th against quarterbacks and 12th against wide receivers.
Wide receiver Stefon Diggs is dealing with ribs injury this week. He hasn’t practiced all week and is unlikely to play this week. Cousins will target Thielen all game.

Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill/Sammy Watkins, KC
It was hard to choose between Hill and Watkins. Hill has been the more consistent of the two but after Watkins’ bounce-back game in Week 8, Mahomes has two great weapons to throw to.
Hill is the speedier of the two. He has 44 catches for 705 yards and seven touchdowns. He can break away for a return touchdown, though he hasn’t had one since Week 1.
Watkins had his second 100-yard game last week. Against the seventh-worst passing defense, the Kansas City Chiefs should put up another 30-plus points.
Hill is priced at $8,000 while Watkins comes in at $4,900. If you’re looking to save some money and still have the ability to score, then I would go with Watkins.
Cam Newton and DJ Moore, CAR
Everyone is jumping on the Moore bandwagon. Moore posted the best game of his career last week. Against the Baltimore Ravens, he recorded five catches for 90 yards. He’s been racking up catches over the last four weeks, 16 catches in that span.
Greg Olsen is working his way back to 100 percent and getting back into the offensive scheme. Devin Funchess had back-to-back 18-point games in Week 6 and 7 between two bad games. He caught three catches for 27 yards last week.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense is one of, if not the worst in the league. They’ve allowed the second-most passing yards per game and 33.3 points per game, most in the league. Newton and his wide receivers should have no problem scoring in this game.
Looking at the other matchups, I don’t think I would trust another quarterback to lead my team. In a pinch or as a contrarian play, Baker Mayfield may be worth it. Whatever you do, don’t buy into Ryan Fitzpatrick.
