NHL DFS Man Advantage Saturday November 3
By Matt Vecchio
Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Saturday November 3! Tonight is another big slate with 11 games on tap for the evening. Some of the big fantasy relevant early games include JT and the Leafs heading to the Steel City to take on Sid the Kid and the Pens. We also have a suddenly hot New York Islanders hosting another division rival in the New Jersey Devils. In the late games we have the Blackhawks traveling to Calgary to take on the first place Flames and the Hurricanes on the second of a back to back in Vegas to take on the Golden Knights
With another large NHL DFS slate tonight I am going to focus on you giving you some top options in three different price tiers, some of the top lines to stack, and of course my best goalies for the evening as always.
NHL DFS Goalies
As odd as it may sound I am tapping the pads of Cam Talbot for my top goalie play on the night. He faces a Detroit team that is towards the bottom of the league in goals scored and before his last games where he lost 4-3 to Wild, he kept the Blackhawks and Capitals to 1 goal each in wins. There is a downside that the Oilers don’t give up many shots and the Red Wings rank 20th in total shots on goal.
Jaroslav Halak has seemed to find his game again in Boston this season with a 4-0-2 record to start the year and has seemingly taken over the starters spot from Tuuka Rask. Halak has a stellar 1.51 GAA and a league leading .947 SV%. He is playing a Nashville team that has won 3 of 4 and scored 15 goals in those 4 games, but with the Halak has been playing he could definitely stifle this Predators offense. Also you get a hot goalie at a discount since Halak is only going to cost $7.3K
My last cash game play in net for Saturday is Andrei Vasilevskiy in a road start in Montreal. Before his start on Thursday Vasilevskiy had won 3 straight and gave up 3 goals or less in all 3 starts. Vasilevskiy has an amazing .930 SV% this season, a 2.09 GAA, and a 6-2-1 record.
GPP Targets
- Scott Darling @ VGK
- Braden Holtby vs DAL
- Robin Lehner vs NJD ( Love this play tonight)
- Jake Allen vs MIN
- Sergei Bobrovsky @ LA
NHL DFS Top Individual Plays
Top Tier:
Connor McDavid ($8.3K): McDavid is arguably the best player in the NHL ( I think Sidney Crosby is, but I’m biased) and has been playing as such of late. In his last 6 games McDavid has 5 goals and 3 assists. Tonight he gets a matchup with the Detroit Red Wings who have given up the 3rd most goals on the season and are 9th in power play goals allowed with 10 allowed and the Oilers have scored 10 themselves, 4 of which have been scored by McDavid. Line mates Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Drake Caggiula are both definitely in play with CMD.
Patrick Kane ($7.7K): On the season Kane is averaging 6.2 FPPG and has 11 goals and 7 assists. Kane takes a ton of shots per game, landing 6 on net last game, and has 4 goals and 2 assists in his last 5. On Saturday Kane gets the Flames who have given up 46 goals, 4th worst in the league. Along with Brandon Saad ($4.3K) and Artem Anisimov ($3.9K) they make for a good line stack.
Mark Giordano ($6.5K): Giordano is a rare player in the NHL, in al 14 games he’s played this season he is yet to be held with a fantasy point. He is a good bet to get you at least 3 points (only 3 times this season he has scored less than that) and is averaging 4.7 FPPG. Giordano plays on the Flames top D pair and top PP unit and has a matchup Saturday night with the Blackhawks who have allowed the mot goals in the league.
Mid Tier:
Elias Lindholm ($6.4K): Lindholm plays on the Flames top line with Sean Monahan ($6.5K) and Johnny Gaudreau ($6.9K) and has 9 goals and 5 assists on the season. Over his last 4 games Lindholm is averaging over 5 FPPG with 3 goals and 2 assists and 14 shots on goal. Like with Giordano, Lindholm also has a nice matchup with the Blackhawks who have surrendered the most goals this season.
Brendan Gallagher ($6.1K): Gallagher is on a pretty hot stretch right now with 5 goals in his last 5 games and is averaging 5 FPPG in that same stretch. Gallagher is now up to 9 goals on the season with 1 assist.
Seth Jones ($5.5K): It would seem that DraftKings is down on Jones after his first 5 games since have dropped his price $800 since Tuesday. On Saturday Jones and the Jackets get a matchup with the worst team in the NHL, the LA Kings. It will either be Jack Campbell or Peter Budaj in net and seems like his pricing is in such a way that DK thought Quick would be in net. In his first 5 games back Jones has scored 2 times.
Value Tier:
Mathew Barzal ($4.8K): Barzal hasn’t had a great start to the season, but he does have 12 points (1 goal 11 assists) in 12 games on the season. The Islanders have won 4 straight games and Barzal has 4 assists those 4 games and he is playing a Devil team that is reeling right now losing 5 of 6 and allowed 28 goals in those games (nearly 5 a game). I want some exposure to the Islanders for sure and Barzal is an inexpensive way to get that from a player who can get going at any moment.
Dominick Simon ($4.4K): Currently Simon is on a 5 game point streak for the Penguins with 2 goals and 4 assists in that stretch and gets to play with Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel on the top line and also plays with Guentzel on the second PP unit.
Jonas Brodin ($3.6K): Jonas Brodin is not usually a fantasy option, but he has been picking up points of late and will barely cost you anything. Over his last 4 the Wild D man has 2 goals and is averaging nearly 4 FPPG.
NHL DFS Line Stacks
Tampa Bay 2 : Tampa Bay is the best team in the East right now and the line of Yanni Gourde, Tyler Johnson, and Brayden Point is there best line right now.

Toronto PP1: Like I wrote for Thursday night, this is the best way to exposure to the Maple Leafs offense. I would prefer to use Mitch Marner, Nazem Kadri, and either John Tavares, Morgan Rielly, or Patrick Marleau depending on the amount of cash you have left.
Columbus 2: Boone Jenner, Nick Foligno, and John Anderson have been pretty hot since they were put together a few weeks back and get to go up against the putrid Kings team. You can also take Anthony Duclair as a one-off CBJ player.
Washington 1: Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, and jakub Vrana have combined for 38 points season and get a matchup with the Dallas Stars who are towards the bottom of the league in goals against.
Boston 1 : There are two lines that are always in play when they are on the slate, this first is Colorado 1, and #2 is the Boston 1 of Patrice Bergergon, David Pastrnak, and Brian Marchand.
