Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been playing at an MVP level through the 2018 NFL season, and he added another insane touchdown toss to his running record in Week 9.

The Cleveland Browns defense has some stars on defense, namely cornerback Denzel Ward and edge rusher Myles Garrett, but they simply stood no chance against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.

Cleveland’s home fans were “treated” to a clinic in electrifying offense, as Mahomes averaged 13 yards per attempt with 325 passing yards and three touchdowns into the third quarter of the Chiefs dominant performance.

Mahomes’s third touchdown was an absolute dime, and it can be viewed here, courtesy of FanSided.com contributor Ian Wharton. He had an extremely tight window to work with, but he was able to get the ball safely into Travis Kelce’s secure mitts in the middle of the end zone. Kelce, who lined up in the slot, did well to try and work himself open against the safety, but the Browns defensive back didn’t bite.

That meant that Mahomes had to be absolutely perfect in fitting the ball through a throwing window that included linebacker Jamie Collins in coverage. But Mahomes was able to put the ball up in a spot where only Kelce could get it, and the result was Mahomes’s 29th touchdown of the season, extending his streak of 3+ TD outings to four.

Mahomes averages over three touchdown passes per game, and the Browns defense certainly felt his wrath on this score to Kelce. That was Kelce’s second touchdown reception of the game, moving his season total up to six. With Mahomes throwing him the football, Kelce could surpass his career-high of eight touchdown receptions, which he set in 2017.

The Chiefs offense is truly a special unit, and Mahomes’ ball placement on deep and intermediate throws has been the biggest reason for Kansas City becoming a nearly-unstoppable force in the AFC West. Cleveland has made improvements on the defensive side of the ball, but new head coach Gregg Williams’ squad couldn’t stand a chance against throws like that.
