Epic Games and the NFL have announced a partnership in which customizable NFL-themed Fortnite skins will be available to gamers.

Epic Games and the NFL made a huge announcement today that will lead to hundreds of 14-year old Tom Brady’s running around the world of Fortnite. Be prepared for your video game-induced rage to increase as you will now be getting eliminated by your least favorite NFL players.

Starting Nov. 9, gamers will be able to hit the item shop for fully customizable NFL-themed Fortnite skins. You’ll have the ability to choose both the colors (team) and the numbers. For obvious reasons, names will not be used.

Don’t get it twisted. I am as excited as anyone to drop in as surefire Hall-of-Famer and certified-elite Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, launching 80 yard grenades at anyone in the vicinity, but there might be a slight issue here.

While both Epic Games and the NFL stand to profit largely from this deal, Joe Flacco (and probably some other NFL greats) will be getting no money from the deal, regardless of whether their jersey/number is chosen.

While it would be hard to monetize the new skins individually, as they will be changeable, the NFL players as a whole certainly deserve a cut from this deal.

Previously, the NCAA and EA sports got into hot water over a “likeness” issue (to put it lightly) and it ended with the video game being discontinued since 2014. Hopefully the NFL has a plan in place to deal with any potential backlash from players and hopefully that plan is to cut them in somehow.

The idea to have NFL, NHL, NBA, etc. jerseys in a game like Fortnite is great for all parties involved, but not if the players aren’t getting a cut of the earnings. After all, they are the ones putting everything on the line for our enjoyment. Hopefully this doesn’t become a major issue between the NFL and NFLPA.

All that being said, on Nov. 9, you’ll find me, a Joe Flacco-resembling Fortnite player, bounty-hunting every single New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers player I can find. To quote the ultra-talented, always-adapting Liam Neeson: “I will find you and I will kill you.”

Fortnite NFL skins will be available in the item shop on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. ET.
