Fantasy Basketball Plays: Draftkings NBA 11/5 Lock Plays
By Shaun Evans
Hey Guys! Shaun here with my first “Lock Play” Article. NBA has many options to choose from and I’m here to make your choices a little easier. Now for the NBA, we can’t lock in every player mentioned in the article like the NFL but these plays should help you cash out. Lets dive in to this 9 game Fantasy Basketball slate for Monday!
Fantasy Basketball Point Guard
Kyle Lowry
Salary: $8,600
Coming in on a strong streak, Kyle Lowry gets to face the Utah Jazz who tend to struggle against point guards so far this season. In the last five games, Lowry has scored 48, 43, 44.25, 41, and 59.5 Fantasy Basketball points. He’s averaging 18 points, 11 assists, and 4 rebounds so far this season. The Utah Jazz are giving up on average 25 points and 6 assist a game. This gives Kyle Lowry the heavy lock title as he leads the league in assist and should benefit from scoring. Being the typical NBA, the Jazz have been throwing out random injury titles with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert but both were available this weekend and should be tomorrow. Also with DeMar Derozan in San Antonio, Lowry has become the face of the franchise and doing it pretty well. Expect Kyle Lowry and the Raptors to continue their hot start to the NBA Season.
Fantasy Basketball Shooting Guard
Salary: $6,400
Being one of the cheaper lock plays, Rodney McGruder is that guy heading into Mondays game against the Detroit Pistons. Ranking pretty low against shooting guards, Detroit is allowing shooting guards to score around 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assist per game. McGruder on the season is averaging 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assist on the season so far. Miami rank 13th for possessions per game while the Detroit Pistons rank 10th, so expect for a high scoring game between the two and that giving McGruder the opportunity to record another high scoring fantasy point outing.
Fantasy Basketball Small Forward
Salary: $7,200
Being one of my favorite plays of last season, Tobias Harris is still up there this season for me. The Los Angeles Clippers get to face the Minnesota Timberwolves who rank 23rd against Small Forwards. Being on par with fast paced teams, the Clippers rank 9th and the Timberwolves rank 12th in possessions per game. Almost averaging a double-double on the season, Harris is averaging 21 points, 8 rebounds per game. The Timberwolves are allowing small forwards 25 points and 9 rebounds per game, living up to Harris’s stat line and making this a prime match-up. His last five games, he has scored 29.75, 37.25, 24.5, 41, and 33.25 fantasy points.

Fantasy Basketball Power Forward
Salary: $6,300
Sticking in the same game, Danilo Gallinari has a prime match up also. While him and Tobias Harris play both forward positions, he should have a set night. Ranking 27th against the Power Forward position, the Timberwolves give up on average 26 points and 13 rebounds to the position. Gallinari hasn’t been the double double machine but could be set up for it tonight. In his five last games, Gallinari has scored 25.75, 38.25, 35.75, 38, and 22. While last night wasn’t his best performance, expect him to bounce back tonight. Also another positive is that Gallinari’s price tag is $6,300, making it easier to fit in other top plays for Monday.
Fantasy Basketball Center
Salary: $5,100
Coming in as a surprise play, Myles Turner is facing a Houston Rockets defense that is struggling to stop centers so far this season. Giving up 27 points, 16 rebounds, and 4 blocks to centers, the Rockets rank 28th against the position. Myles Turner is only averaging 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks on the season and just averaging 25 fantasy points but that’s him at least hitting his value. The downside to Myles Turner and the Indiana Pacers is that they have the slowest pace on the season. Houston will most likely lead majority of the game making the Pacers work to catch up, giving Turner time to score in junk time. Myles Turner’s last five games, he scored 24, 30.75, 21.25, 36.25, and 20.5 fantasy points.
