Welcome to this edition of NBA FanDuel DFS Targets from FantasyCPR.com. Here you will find players to target for tonight’s action, geared for cash games and tournament plays on FanDuel.

Welcome to the Monday edition of NBA FanDuel Targets for NBA DFS. First, I will go over players to target at each position for tonight’s nine-game slate, starting at our usual time of 7:00 PM ET. I will give two targets at each of the guard and forward positions, and one center. Following the picks, will be the ever popular “sample lineup” we like to do here at FantasyCPR.  Some plays will be geared toward cash games, and some for GPP. Some of course will also technically qualify as both. As we break each play down, I will be sure to specify which type of contests I am targeting that player in.

With NBA DFS, I can’t stress enough how important it is to not just plug-and-play these sample lineups. There is so much info that will drop over the course of the day for NBA, and you never truly know what to expect. If you want to be a consistent winner for NBA, lock starts at 7PM ET on most week nights. Plan on being ready to tinker those lineups last second, accounting for all of that fabulous NBA news that nobody was expecting five minutes before, or even AFTER lock. It happens all of the time, so if you set your lineup now and forget it, it’s probably not going to work out for you in the long run.

What To Expect Tonight:

It should be another fun-filled NBA DFS slate, with 18 teams in action, and plenty of news already shaping up today based on what happened last night. Four teams will be on the second-leg of a back-to-back, so make sure to watch out for teams resting veterans or banged-up players. The Timberwolves, Raptors, Knicks and Grizzlies will all be playing for the second time in two nights, and thankfully we already have some early news.

First, we should start with resting players. Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard both sat out last nights games, and it has been stated that both should be available tonight. That is just your typical rest for these guys. Keep an eye on the other Timberwolves on the injury report as well, because if Derrick Rose remains out with Jeff Teague already ruled out, Tyus Jones remains another great value play.

Now to the injuries. Teague has already been ruled out as stated above, and joining him in that capacity for tonight is Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell. I tried to figure out who would pick up some points in the Jazz backcourt the last couple games with Mitchell out, but it just hasn’t worked out well for me. Dante Exum seemed like a solid bet to pick up some fantasy points on Saturday but that didn’t pan out as he was only able to put up 8 FDP. Royce O’Neal seems like the best bet if you still want to mess with situation, although I am not quite sure if I am on board with that tonight.

This should be another tough slate like we have been used to seeing the last few nights. We have superstars in Russ Westbrook and Anthony Davis squaring off in OKC in a game that boasts an early Vegas total of 238, and we also have the might Warriors in action as well. Golden State will be at home hosting Memphis, who happen to be one of the four teams on a back-to-back. Vegas thinks this one will not be close, as the Warriors stand as 14 point favorites at the moment.

Last but certainly not least, it’s officially Boban season! If you are unaware, Boban Marjanovich is a 7’3″ 30-year-old serbian native, with some decent game for a big man, and a helluva personality. He is getting a chance to start with the Clippers, as the awful play of Marcin Gortat to this point has basically removed him from the rotation. FanDuel tried to get cute and raise his priced to $5,400, but that is nearly enough. #BOBANSZN!!

With plenty of options to sift through today, let’s start the breakdown.

MEMPHIS, TN – OCTOBER 26: Mike Conley #11 of the Memphis Grizzlies drives to the basket against Wesley Matthews #23 of the Dallas Mavericks at the FedEx Forum on October 26, 2017 in Memphis, Tennessee. NBA FanDuel DFS: Point Guards:

Mike Conley – Memphis Grizzlies – $8,000 – (GPP)

This might be a little crazy but we have to be a little different to win a GPP so here is a long-shot for you. Point guard is extremely deep. And when we have guys like Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook on the slate you wouldn’t normally think of a guy like Conley. Want an even bigger reason this is crazy? It usually isn’t wise to roster guards on back-to-back’s on big slates simply because there should be better options with fresher legs.

Conley however, got in foul trouble early last night against the Suns, and ended up playing just 26 minutes. He shot poorly at 3-16 in that one, so recency bias is yet another reason nobody will be on him. It will be a track meet tonight at Oracle Arena against the Warriors, and Conley could be that 2.5% owned guard to drop a 50 FDP game nobody expected, and win you a GPP.

Kyrie Irving – Boston Celtics – $7,700 – (Cash)

My top cash game guard for tonight, will be Celtics All-Star Kyrie Irving. Irving is another player in a tough spot tonight, as some of the metrics will say this could be a bad play. But I like what Irving has done the last few games, and I always consider him under $8K for his ability to go off and break a slate.

This should be a real good game between two good defensive teams, and if the Celtics want to win this game they will need Irving to have his shot. If this game was in Boston, no doubt Irving is a lock tonight as his home/road splits are pretty noticeable. But it will be on the road where Kyrie has not been nearly as good. I really like a balanced approach to cash games at this point and that could certainly change over the course of the day, but for now, Irving fits my cash build perfectly.

***Value Plays: Tyus Jones $5,100 – Shelvin Mack $4,500***

DraftKings
HOUSTON, TX – JANUARY 02: James Harden #13 of the Houston Rockets goes up for a dunk during the game against the New Orleans Hornets at Toyota Center on January 2, 2013 in Houston, Texas. (Photo by Scott Halleran/Getty Images) /

NBA FanDuel DFS: Shooting Guards:

James Harden – Houston Rockets – $11,100 – (GPP)

Harden is back and with no minutes restrictions making him firmly in play once again. The match-up isn’t a great one, as the Rockets will face the stingy defense of Victor Oladipo and the Pacers, but Harden is always in play for GPP’s in situations like this. Anytime you can roster a player of this caliber in which his ownership is likely to be down compared to normal, you try to make it work. With Harden against Dipo, most will right away look to the Pelicans/Thunder game and right at Westbrook and Davis. I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if Harden was the one superstar who went off on this slate. It’s been awhile since we have heard from him.

Victor Oladipo – Indiana Pacers – $9,100 – (Cash)

On the flip side of Harden, The Rockets are dismal on defense, and this is one of the better spots to attack on this slate. Dipo is always scoring buckets, having scored 20 points or more in all but one game this season. But he has really picked up his rebounding the last two games notching double-doubles in both games. Against a tough defense in Boston on Saturday, Oladipo managed 24 points and 12 rebounds along with three steals. The 46.9 FDP was a good follow-up to his monster 58.3 FDP game at Chicago the night before. Yet another player who fits the balanced approach mold for cash games tonight, Oladipo is shaping up to be my top overall player for his salary on this slate.

***Value Plays: Dennis Schroder $5,500 – Jaylen Brown $4,900 – Garrett Temple $4,500***

DraftKings
NEW ORLEANS, LA – OCTOBER 19: Nikola Mirotic #3 of the New Orleans Pelicans celebrates a score against the Sacramento Kings during the second half at the Smoothie King Center on October 19, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana. NBA FanDuel DFS: Small Forwards:

Nikola Mirotic – New Orleans Pelicans – $8,400 – (GPP)

Whether AD is in the lineup or not, the production of Mirotic night in and night out has been incredible over a four game stretch. It certainly helps the bottom line and makes sense that Mirotic would grab more rebounds in the absence of Davis, but he has picked up his scoring as well. Two of those games were with AD and two without. In those contests with Davis in the lineup, as he is expected to be tonight, Mirotic scored 26 with 12 rebounds against the Warriors on Halloween, and scored 22 with 16 rebounds on Saturday against the Spurs. This game stack will be popular in GPP’s tonight, and this could be one of the lower owned options to help separate you from the pack.

Sam Dekker – Cleveland Cavaliers – $4,200 – (Cash)

I wasn’t planning on including any value plays in the targets anymore, but I think this one is a lock that people are already giving up on. Dekker has been starting since the injury to Kevin Love, and figures to continue to do so for the time being. The first thing I thought would happen when Tyronn Lue was fired, was that Larry Nance Jr. would start and pick up more minutes. That hasn’t happened quite yet, and Dekker continues to get run with the starters. This is my perfect cash punt today since I am only picking one, and using a balanced approach. If he flops despite the good minutes at least we drop one score right??

***Value Plays: Kyle Anderson $4,500 – Royce O’Neal $3,500***

NEW ORLEANS, LA – APRIL 21: Anthony Davis #23 of the New Orleans Pelicans reacts to a foul by the Portland Trail Blazers during the second half of Game Four of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs at the Smoothie King Center on April 21, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Pelicans defeated the Trail Blazers 131-123 to sweep the series 4-0. NBA FanDuel DFS: Power Forwards:

Anthony Davis – New Orleans Pelicans – $11,800 – (GPP)

I am still not quite ready to go here in cash games yet due to the sore shoulder, but Davis is probable tonight, and the ability to break the slate is always something you have to consider when making your tournament team. Thanks to my buddy and FantasyCPR colleague Joe Metz, it was brought to my attention that Davis has had some huge games in the past against tonight’s opponent the Thunder, and if he is full go, he could easily have a monster game once again.

AD was unstoppable before the injury, putting up 70.6 FDP against the Clippers and 65.3 FDP against the Nets. But because of the injury, he has only played twice in the last five games, and despite playing 40 minutes in each, he didn’t look the same, coming up short of 50 FDP in each contest. I don’t want to miss that big game when it happens though, because it will eventually.

Wendell Carter Jr. – Chicago Bulls – $7,800 – (Cash)

One of my favorite young players here is getting a full look with the injuries to Bobby Portis and Lauri Markaanen, and he has taken full advantage. Locked in as the Bulls starting center, we get the luxury of having him listed at power forward, on top of being slightly underpriced still in my opinion. The Bulls are down a ton of bodies, as Kris Dunn will miss 4-6 weeks as well, and Carter Jr. is slowly becoming the second scoring option behind Zach LaVine.

Carter Jr.’s minutes have been anywhere from 24-37 in the last four games, but that 37 minute game was a monster against the Nuggets, in which he posted 59.1 FDP. He has been rather steady in that span as well, as he is averaging 43.8 FDP. He should have no problem putting together a nice stat line against the Knicks, and is one of my favorite cash plays of the day.

***Value Plays: Jerami Grant $4,900 – Trey Lyles $4,600***

NBA FanDuel DFS: Center Targets:

Boban Marjanovich – Los Angeles Clippers – $5,400 – (Cash/GPP)

Since entering the starting lineup now two games ago, the Serbian gentle giant has played exactly 22 minutes in each, and has double-doubled in each as well. It doesn’t take a whole lot of minutes for Marjanovich to rack up fantasy points, as he has been known to have huge games off the bench in a limited role throughout his career.

More from FanSided

He only posted 24.2 FDP as 60% chalk in cash games on Friday night, so hopefully the masses will see this near $2K price increase and stay away. I hope so. Boban wasn’t able to pick up any steals or blocks in the game against Orlando, and that should change here tonight. Minnesota will not have a point guard with any size to get inside, and Karl-Anthony Towns has just been playing soft. If Boban doesn’t put up at least 30 FDP here I will be shocked.

***Value Plays: Just play Boban!***
