November 6: NBA DFS DraftKings Tournament Core Plays

Welcome readers of FantasyCPR, we are going to dive into this four-game slate NBA DFS tonight. This is definitely a tough slate as we have Giannis Antetokounmpo at $12,600 and then a step $3,000 drop off to the next player, which is Damian Lillard.

At first glance, a lot of people are going the balance approach in tournaments and it looks like Giannis is going to be massively underowned. Let’s dive into the three plays I’m using in tournaments tonight.

NBA DFS: Damian Lillard, POR ($9,600)

My initial lean on this slate was to fade Damian Lillard, well that’s everyone’s lean and after diving into the numbers, I think Lillard can get there for us tonight. This game is expected to stay close and has a 228-point total.

Lillard gets up for these kind of games, facing another superstar and that matchup isn’t as bad as I initially thought. Eric Bledsoe is a solid defender but because of the way they scheme their defense they allow the most three points from the top of the arch. Lillard possesses a 29% usage rate and 26.9 assist rate. In order for this game to stay close, we know that Lillard is going to be at the center of it.

NBA DFS: Deandre Ayton, PHO ($7,500)

Ayton get the Brooklyn Nets tonight, I honestly do not see how he does not get there tonight. Game log watchers will likely be out on Ayton but he hasn’t really had favorable match-ups. Tonight he is facing Brooklyn who is allowing, 46.3 rebounds per game tonight, which is 8th most in the NBA.

Ayton has an 18.8% rebounding percentage, which is going to lock him in for a minimum of nearly 9 rebounds. I like Ayton a lot tonight, think he is going to easily pace himself to a double-double tonight. Play Ayton in tournaments as a core play.

NBA DFS: D’Angelo Russell, BKN ($6,000)

I can’t do this in cash games, but in tournaments he is one of my favorites plays tonight. Russell is not going to completely bust tonight at this price tag but he might fall between 20-40 fantasy points tonight.

Russell hasn’t really shot the ball well this year, but tonight could be a different story against the Phoenix Suns. The draw back with Russell is his minutes however, if he gets hot, the Nets will have no choice but to give Russell the run. I cannot get to 100% Russell tonight, but I will be well over the field on D’Angelo Russell tonight.
