Fantasy Basketball Picks – Strategy and Player Pool for November 7th
By David Ramos
Welcome to what will be a DFS Fantasy Basketball player pool for GPP mass multi entry strategy on both Draftkings and FanDuel. This is the Fantasy Basketball Picks – Strategy and Player Pool for November 7th.
This fantasy basketball picks pool is designed to replace the mindset of using a core of players and then filling in with best fits and value. When selecting a pool of players for an NBA slate, the goal is to limit your pool to about 15% of the players available. This lower pool gives a higher variance while a larger pool field with yield a lower variance.
When determining my pool, I utilize many tools including my projection model as a guide in determining implied value to salary. I also look at minutes and typically only keep players expected to see 28 or more minutes.
Contest selection is key as well. For example, you have better odds of putting 150 entries into a tournament with a field of 20,000 entries versus a contest that may have a higher prize pool but only allows 20 max entries in a field of 40,000.
I also recommend setting your player pool exposure by selecting 5 to 6 players with an exposure of 60%, your mid level plays at 30 to 50%, value plays at 15 to 25%, and your punts to around 5 to 10%.
Using the csv edit option on both sites is the easiest way to enter in all your lineups once you have generated and here are links on how to do this – Fanduel CSV Draftkings CSV. The player pool on the following pages will be broken down into tiers – Elite (salary above 9k), Mid-tier (7-9k salary), Value/Pivots (5-7k salary), Punts (salary below 5k), and while based on Draftkings pricing, this is the same pool that will be used on Fanduel.

We won’t be getting cute here tonight on this 10 game slate. Leading the way will be LeBron James. The Timberwolves should be able to keep the game close which will mean a full allotment of minutes for James who is looking to help his team overcome losing 3 of their last 5. His fantasy performance has been subpar as well and tonight is the perfect storm for him to get back on track.
There is no need to make a case for Anthony Davis (also due to bounce back) Joel Embiid, and Paul George, who gets a nice bump with Russell Westbrook sitting. I will make a case for Demar DeRozan in this tier. He currently leads the Spurs in usage (30%), ppg (27.3), and apg (6.7).
For the season he averages about 46 fantasy points a night while shooting a cool 50 percent from the field. i expect his ownership to be on the low end of players in the priced above 9k and will be a steal tonight.
For anyone wondering why my articles are not full of stat/numbers/data it is because this information is freely available almost anywhere. Most everyone who provides advice are on the same punts, the same chalk and same pivots. My goal is to provide you with a solid player pool that has a competitive shot at finishing above the green line.
Sometimes I will put data with my plays and other-times I will just discuss why I personally am pushing for a certain play. The reason you are likely reading and following is for advice and or help narrowing down your own personal player choices on any given slate and moving on we get to my favorite spot to attack.
On average the Pistons have given up 55 fantasy points per game to centers this season. I mean, Bam Adebayo was able to put up 30 DK points on them 2 nights ago in only 29 minutes. This is why Nikola Vucevic is my favorite play in this tier. He is averaging a double double on the season and over 1 fantasy point per minute and should not have any issues reaching the 45 or even 50 fantasy point mark tonight.
As long as Elfrid Payton is out, I will continue to plug and play Jrue Holiday. He has put up over 40 fantasy points in all but 3 games this season and is nearly averaging a double double himself on points and assists.
He gets a Chicago team that keeps the games close and whose style of play has been forgiving to the opponents point guards. Other plays in this tier for tonight are Kyle Lowry, Zach Lavine, Josh Richardson, and Luka Doncic.
Dennis Schroder – no Westbrook and against a Cleveland team giving up a ton of fantasy point production on a nightly basis. There really is no need to overthink this as he sits at 6900 on Drafkings and os a chalk we will eat.
My favorite play probably on the slate is Wendell Carter Jr. I have no clue why Draftkings continues to underprice him but we need to keep taking advantage. At 6200 all he has done is go for over 30 fantasy points in the past 6 games while getting over 40 and over 50 once each.
He is also has at least 2 blocks in 7 of 11 games this season. Deploy him at a near lock exposure amd don’t look back. This tier is rounded out with Goran Dragic, Buddy Hield, Steven Adams, Domantas Sabonis, Gary Harris, Justice Winslow, and Tristan Thompson.
Tonight’s slate is full of punt value plays under 5k. If Hassan Whiteside sots again, then Bam Adebayo becomes almost automatic. Last game out ge went for 30 fantasy points in 29 minutes and can put up the same kind of production nightly when given the opportunity.
JR Smith is interesting here. His salary is just 3700 on Draftkings and he has averaged 25 minutes and 30 fantasy points in his past 2 games. With Cleveland basically in tank mode already and now with Sam Dekker hurt, he could continue to be showcased for a possible trade deal. Of we can confirm minutes then he also becomes a high exposure punt.
Other plays here are Shelvin Mack, Allonzo Trier, Fred VanVleet, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Larry Nance Jr.
Remember that these plays are a guide when setting your lines and are best used with my projections which are posted daily at 4 and updated at 6:30. Follow me on Twitter, @dfsenchilada, for these projections, thoughts, and more.
