The former WWE star turned MMA fighter CM Punk will now try his hand at fight commentating on the upcoming Cage Fury Fighting Championships card.

The man called CM Punk has had two big careers in the past few years, first, he was a WWE superstar until he decided to leave that behind and try his hand at MMA. After a brief stint in the UFC which left him with a record of 0-2, Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks, has yet another job lined up, he will be a commentator at the New Jersey-based fight promotion Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC). The company announced this week via MMAJunkie.com that Brooks will join Mike Gill and Brian Palakow on the broadcast team. Brooks’ first assignment will be CFFC 71, the event will be broadcast in UFC’s streaming service Fight Pass.

“I can’t wait for this opportunity to call the CFFC fights on UFC Fight Pass,” Punk told MMA Junkie. “CFFC has a long history of putting on exciting fights featuring some of the sport’s up-and-coming athletes. This card is going to be a lot of fun, and I’m really excited to have the chance to be a part of it.”

CFFC was founded in 2006 and has seen many future UFC fighters pass through their organization. Past CFFC champions include Jimmie Rivera, Anthony Smith, Aljamain Sterling, Paul Felder.

“CM Punk’s knowledge and passion for MMA is incredible, and his charisma and personality make him a perfect fit for this role,” CFFC president Rob Haydak told MMAJunkie. “By pairing him with Mike Gill, a true sports broadcasting veteran who has been around the fight game his whole career in Atlantic City, we have a great combination for our first show on UFC Fight Pass.”

CFFC 71 will take place on Dec. 14 at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City.
