Fantasy Football, Week 10: High value plays for DraftKings
By Dylan Broady
Week 9 thrilled us all. We had some good times and some bad times. Let’s make sure your Week 10 is full of more good times than bad.
For those who are new to daily fantasy and DraftKings, lets take a look at how to set your lineups and how to navigate through the app. When you open the app there will be a main page. On that main page there will be several sport options to choose from. The option will say “find a contest.”
Select NFL, then you will see three different game styles to choose from. Classic, tiers and Showdown Captain Mode. Which is a new game style DraftKings now offers. Where you can create your team from only one NFL game. What we want to select though is “Classic”.
This article covers how you can maximize your teams potential based on the “classic” game style. You will have a $50,000 salary cap and we will show you how to utilize that cap each and every week this season.
Once you select classic you will see four contests to choose from. They will tell you the times you have to submit your nine player rosters by, along with the date. You will also see what the “featured” contest is, this will have the word “featured” highlighted in yellow next to it.
After you select a “classic” contest you will see how many games you can choose from, along with entry fees and total prizes. Also, DraftKings will show you how many entries are left per game. After you select your game of choice you will be prompted to create a lineup.
We will be removing the flex featured player in this article. As titled this is high value plays and we want to showcase who the four best players are from each position each and every week based upon matchups and price. We will highlight when a player is “flex worthy”. We have covered a lot of flex worthy candidates and will always let you know how to utilize each player featured week to week.
In Week 9 we hit on Brandin Cooks and George Kittle. We said Cooks would have 85 receiving yards and one touchdown. Against New Orleans he caught six balls for 114 yards and a touchdown. George Kittle went up against the Oakland Raiders and caught four balls for 108 yards and a touchdown. We said he would have 75 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Kenyan Drake essentially went missing and Kirk Cousins didn’t come close to our 350 passing yards and three touchdowns prediction. Cousins actually threw for 164 yards and one touchdown. As the Vikings defense came up huge instead, dominating the Detroit Lions offense.
We will gladly take the .500 batting average. So what does Week 10 have to offer us? Let’s dive in and find out!
