Welcome to this edition of NBA FanDuel DFS Targets from FantasyCPR.com. Here you will find players to target for tonight’s action, geared for cash games and tournament plays on FanDuel.

Welcome to the Friday edition of NBA FanDuel Targets for NBA DFS. First, I will go over players to target at each position for tonight’s weekend starting seven-game main slate, starting at our usual time of 7:00 PM ET.

I will give two targets at each of the guard and forward positions, and one center. Following the picks, will be the ever popular “sample lineup” we like to do here at FantasyCPR.  Some plays will be geared toward cash games, and some for GPP.

Some of course will also technically qualify as both. As we break each play down, I will be sure to specify which type of contests I am targeting that player in.

With NBA DFS, I can’t stress enough how important it is to not just plug-and-play these sample lineups. There is so much info that will drop over the course of the day for NBA, and you never truly know what to expect.

If you want to be a consistent winner for NBA, lock starts at 7PM ET on most week nights. Plan on being ready to tinker those lineups last second, accounting for all of that fabulous NBA news that nobody was expecting five minutes before, or even AFTER lock. It happens all of the time, so if you set your lineup now and forget it, it’s probably not going to work out for you in the long run.

What To Expect Tonight:

After a quiet four-game slate, and a day off for this article while I focused on my NFL articles, we are back today to break down some plays for this seven-game slate to kick off the weekend. There aren’t a whole bunch of superstars in action tonight, but we do have two of the best 1-2 punch combos hitting the hardwood.

Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond will lead the Pistons into Atlanta to face the 3-8 Hawks, and the two big men should be in store for another big night.

My other dual threat in action tonight that I love to stack, is the young Sixers guns Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. Philly will be at home hosting the 6-5 Hornets, and like the Pistons and Hawks, we should have a relatively close game. The Sixers are 7-5 to start the season, and 3-1 to start the month of November.

Some of the other spots that stick out today are the match-up in Orlando between the Magic and Wizards, and the lone night-cap in Sacramento, where the Kings will host the Timberwolves. With Orlando and Washington, there really aren’t a ton of cash game targets as both teams kind of spread it out for the most part. However, in the Kings/Wolves game, I see at least one lock.

John Wall and Brad Beal look like fine top end GPP targets, and a few of the reserves may offer some value, such as Kelly Oubre, and possibly even Austin Rivers. On the flip side, it’s really tough to target any Magic players on this slate.

Only ones I would consider for tournaments are Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic. Problem there is Gordon is how expensive he is considering how streaky he is, and Vucevic is about the fourth or fifth option at a loaded center position tonight.

Evan Fournier has been playing well of late though, and could make a great cash play.

On the injury front, Jeff Teague remains out for the Wolves, which likely mean big minutes once again for the resurgent Derrick Rose. I mentioned one lock for Minnesota and that is it no doubt. One to keep an eye on is the status of Miami point guard Goran Dragic. If he can’t go, Tyler Johnson once again becomes a fine value play at $4,700. Without further ado, let’s check out today’s targets.

NBA FanDuel DFS: Point Guards

John Wall – Washington Wizards – $9,900 – (GPP)

Safe to say it has been a slow start to the season for the fully finally healthy John Wall, but he still has certainly had some big games. When I look at the top point guard options tonight, Wall and Simmons sit at the top and both are solid tournament plays. In general, the Sixers players will likely be slightly higher owned, so I like the possible low ownership possibility on Wall tonight.

Wall just notched his first double-double of the season on Tuesday against the Mavs, scoring 24 points and dishing out 10 assists. That was good for 53.8 FDP, and his third 50+ FDP game of the season. While I think Wall is cash safe, logic will tell you to pay down for Kemba Walker, who has a safer floor and is cheaper.

Derrick Rose – Minnesota Timberwolves – $6,000 – (Cash)

What a story it has been for Rose, playing minutes for the first time in a few years with Jeff Teague sidelined. Of course the 50-point game is long in the past, but Rose just had back-to-back solid games playing 34 and 36 minutes, respectively.

Against the Lakers on Wednesday, Rose dropped 31 points with five assists and three rebounds, which was good for 38.1 FDP. I think there is some risk of rest here, so keep an eye for early news even though we may not get it in time. If he rests and Teague remains out, fire up Tyus Jones.

***Value Plays: Tyler Johnson $4,700 – Jeremy Lin $4,000***

NBA FanDuel DFS: Shooting Guards

Evan Fournier – Orlando Magic – $6,900 – (Cash)

Don’t google it. I seriously haven’t and I don’t plan to. Anyways. I pretty much hate rostering Fournier, because every time I do, he puts up a dud. However, he has had four solid games in a row now, and is coming off his best game of the season.

The solid line of 27 points, five rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals was good for 45.5 FDP against Detroit on Wednedsay, and if we can get similar results tonight, he will easily pay off this price tag. It’s a little expensive considering the floor is low, and I likely will not spend up over $5,000 at this position tonight, even in cash games.

Rodney McGruder – Miami Heat – $4,900 – (Cash/GPP)

We already know Dwyane Wade will miss tonight’s game due to the birth of his child, and with Goran Dragic likely to miss another game, we once again have plenty of value to sort through on the Heat.

Most will look to Johnson and Justise Winslow, as will I, but looking a bit deeper, I think I like McGruder the most. First of all, he is under $5K and playing huge minutes already. It has been five games since he broke 30 FDP, but while averaging close to 35 minutes a night, he is a viable play to get us 25-30 FDP.

I will likely be paying down here at both spots at the shooting guard position, and I am starting right here with McGruder.

**Value Plays: Malik Monk $4,500 – Langston Galloway $3,900

NBA FanDuel DFS: Small Forwards

Otto Porter Jr. – Washington Wizards – $6,600 – (GPP)

Much like Fournier for the Magic, Porter Jr. is also coming off of his best game of the season. The seasoned veteran hasn’t been giving much on the offense end this season, but he finally exploded against the Mavericks on Tuesday.

He went for 19 points, six boards, five dimes, two blocks and two steals. Good for 45.7 FDP. While I don’t think we see that kind of production again tonight, this will be a high-scoring game. Both defenses are pretty bad, and there should be plenty of fantasy goodness in this one. It will just be a matter of finding it.

Justise Winslow – Miami Heat – $5,600 – (Cash)

I can’t believe I am saying this, but the closest thing to a value lock on this slate other than Derrick Rose might be Winslow. He is surprisingly still under $6K, despite a solid three-game stretch, but the fact that he is coming off just a 22.5 FDP game against the Spurs may have something to do with that.

Winslow played just 30 minutes in that one, down a bit from his 36 against the Hawks and 34 against Detroit in the previous two. I think with Wade already out for this one, the minutes get back up, and the chance for Winslow to match his 46 FDP game against Atlanta is possible.

NBA FanDuel DFS: Power Forwards

Blake Griffin – Detroit Pistons – $9,800 – (Cash)

Still under $10K I see. Sign me up again. I mean he did have a “down” game against Orlando on Wednesday while his fellow big man Drummond grabbed every rebound in sight. Griffin only managed 30.5 FDP in that one, but was coming off back-to-back 50+ FDP games in the previous two.

I really liked the match-up with the Magic, but considering the injuries to the Hawks, I like this one even more. The 29-year-old has been nothing short of fantastic thus far this season, and is on his way to a career year. He is currently averaging 27.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game through ten games.

Aaron Gordon – Orlando Magic – $7,900 – (GPP)

Another Magic player to consider in that Orlando/Washington game stack scenario would be Gordon. Far from a cash safe play, but three straight solid games put him in tournament consideration.

It has been sort of a down year for Gordon with averages of just 16 PPG and 8.2 RPG, but the recent play and the chance at some serious low ownership at least put him in consideration. He is coming off a 15 point, 10 rebound, six assist outing against the Pistons, which was good for 44 FDP.

***Value Plays: Trey Lyles $5,000 – Omari Spellman $4,200***

NBA FanDuel DFS: Center Targets

Joel Embiid – Philadelphia 76ers – $11,000 – (GPP)

This will be an ownership move for me in GPP’s, as the center position it just loaded at the top tonight. He is the most expensive center on the slate, and when you consider the spot and recent play of some of the other guys who are slightly cheaper, I am thinking most will pay down a little bit.

For $800 less Drummond is the clear cash play, but Embiid is just two games removed from back-to-back 60+ FDP games. He put up 51 FDP with 27 points and 15 rebounds in the first meeting with the Hornets, and a similar output can be expected tonight, as Charlotte will likely have a tough time defending the big man.

Andre Drummond – Detroit Pistons – $10,200 – (Cash)

I normally just write up one Center, but I could seriously write up five or six tonight. While I absolutely love Embiid in all formats tonight, let’s talk about Drummond again, just like we did here on Wednesday.

Truthfully, I would recommend this guy every night just for the rebounding prowess alone, but Drummond has been scoring some buckets as well. He was my top play on Wednesday, and he notched 58.8 FDP, giving him two straight monster games.

If Atlanta can stay in this game at home, Drummond and Griffin are in another great spot to smash once again, and I will again have plenty of both.

***Value Plays: None***
