NFL DRAFT DFS: 2018 Week 10 Auction Analysis (DRAFT.com)
Why do you need another DFS site? Because DRAFT combines the excitement of a season-long draft into one set of games! This article has some targets and pre-draft rankings all set for you to jump into some NFL DRAFT DFS action!
Welcome to the 2018 NFL week 10 edition of NFL DRAFT DFS, now covering auction style drafts on DRAFT.com from FantasyCPR. If you are new to DRAFT or if you are wondering what I am even talking about, check it out here.
I will first go over my targets at each position, and follow that up with rankings. Each target will be followed with their current auction value, which I will refer to as CAV in the future. Auction values change over the course of the week, so I will make them a $5.00 window.
Rosters on DRAFT are 1-QB, 2-RB’s, and 2 WR/TE’s, so just five spots. New to the article this week, will be the fact that we will be geared more towards auction style drafts. Therefore, each targets write-up may talk about how to approach that certain player in an auction.
We will still have our normal rankings after the targets, but instead of DRAFT’s projections following the players name, the CAV will follow instead. Auctions are six man contests, but I will still rank my top 50 players for those that are still here for the 10-man drafts.
These will consist of my top 10 QB’s, and my top 20 RB’s and WR/TE’s.
NFL DRAFT DFS: QB Targets:
Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs – ($10-15)
No surprise here, as we see yet another fantastic match-up for the young gunslinger, as his Chiefs will host the reeling 2-6 Arizona Cardinals. Kansas City is monster 17-point favorites in this one, and even if the starters get a break in the fourth quarter, Mahomes has the potential to guide you to the green by halftime.
He did pretty much just that last week against the Browns, throwing for 375 yards and three touchdowns, accumulating most of those stats by halftime.
Mahomes continues to be the top fantasy quarterback in all formats by a large margin, as he is averaging 27.86 DP per week. He has thrown 11 touchdowns over the last three games, and thrown for over 300 yards in each of those as well.
A $15 bid will get him in most auctions as long he isn’t one of the first few guys brought up, and I have seen him go for as low as $6. In the 10-man drafts there is some variance as well.
He will go late first round here and there, but I was able to draft him mid-to-late second round a couple times as well. Mahomes should smash once again this week, and I have plenty of shares.
Aaron Rodgers – Green Bay Packers – ($5-10)
My second QB target will likely cost you more than the typical $1 bid this week, but I just think Rodgers and Mahomes are in dominant spots this weekend, and when you think about it, spending $10-15 on your QB is not the worst strategy. Once you get into the $20 range for a QB, then I think you are spending a bit too much, but this range is still reasonable in my opinion.
Rodgers is my #2 QB on the board this week, and despite two rough weeks on the road against two tough opponents, it seems nobody is sleeping on Rodgers one bit.
If you go back three weeks, ARodg lit up the 49ers to the tune of 425 yards and two TD’s, leading to 28.4 DP. However, against the Rams and the Patriots on the road, Rodgers was held under 300 passing yards for consecutive weeks, and also failed to reach 20 DP.
This week, the Pack is back in the comforts of Lambeau, where the Dolphins will get a taste of some cold weather football. Rodgers to his favorite receiver Davante Adams is my favorite stack target of the week when I can land it, but Adams usually comes at a hefty price this week.
NFL DRAFT DFS: RB Targets:
Saquon Barkley – New York Giants – ($45-50)
There are a ton of solid backs this week for six-man auctions, and getting two of the top five has been the goal for me. The guy I am landing on the most, is the electric Giants rookie Saquon Barkley.
He has the highest projection on the slate, but of course Todd Gurley still reigns supreme in the rankings in my book. For the first week in a while, I am not spending the $65-70 it will take to land Gurley, and opting to try to grab two elite backs in the $40-45 range.
It was a rough week against a tough Washington defense last week, and even in that sense, Barkley still mustered up 15.6 DP with just 38 rushing yards. I think we will see a much different story this week, as the Giants head into San Francisco for Monday Night Football.
Becoming one of the best dual threats in the league as a pass-catcher as well, Barkley has almost as many receiving yards and he does rushing at this point. He is averaging 21.83 DP per week, and now has 519 yards on the ground and 497 through the air, while finding paydirt seven times.
I have many teams with Barkley and Alvin Kamara this week, and I love that duo much more than paying too much for Gurley, and having someone like our next target as your number two running back.
Adrian Peterson – Washington Redskins – ($1)
You likely will not have to go here in auctions, but this is a big play for the 10-man drafts. Peterson is off of the injury report and practiced in full on Thursday, so all signs point to him being good to go health wise. He was quite the disappointment last week however, as he flopped for just 17 yards on nine carries, against a dismal Falcons defense in a spot he was supposed to smash.
AP has another good match-up, and if the Redskins decide to give him 20+ carries, he will likely put up a great game. If he doesn’t get it going early like last week though, we could see some Kapri Bibbs, and a reduced role for the veteran.
Peterson rushed 24 times for 99 yards against the Cowboys, and followed that with the monster 26 carry, 149 yard game two weeks ago against the Giants.
My thought is last week was an anomaly, and AP gets the carries he needs to have a solid week in Tampa against the Bucs. Wide receiver gets pretty thin pretty quick in those 10-man’s this week with all of these byes, and if you want AP, he is going mid-to-late third round pretty consistently.
Duke Johnson Jr. – Cleveland Browns – ($1)
This one is definitely not for six-man auctions, as there are just much better alternatives, but if you find yourself still needing a running back at the end of a 10-man draft, look no further than Johnson and this terrific match-up against the Falcons.
Atlanta is always a defense to target receiving type running backs against, and Duke is coming off of a huge week doing just that against the Chiefs, in a game in which he racked up 78 receiving yards and scored twice.
His projection sits at just 8.8, so you will have to scroll way down to put him in your queue, but I wouldn’t forget about him just in case. He will be the “chalk” on those “other” DFS sites, and if he can get loose on one screen play and find the end zone, he will end up a great last round pick.
NFL DRAFT DFS: WR/TE Targets:
Davante Adams – Green Bay Packers – ($25-30)
While Michael Thomas gets a higher ranking and is going for relatively the same price in auctions, the Rodgers to Adams combo is one I like quite a bit this week. The Dolphins were likely given a nice false confidence booster giving up just six points to the Jets, and I think they are in for a beat down travelling up to Green Bay.
Just two weeks ago, this Miami defense allowed five passing touchdowns to the Deshaun Watson and the Texans, and I think we are in for a show with Rodgers and Adams this week. He is a back-end first rounder in the 10-man’s, and I have him ranked accordingly at 10 overall.
Tyler Boyd – Cincinnati Bengals – ($5-10)
With injured number one wide receiver AJ Green out at least one more contest, the 5-3 Bengals find themselves in a tough match-up, as the Saints come marching in to Cincinnati. Boyd ranks as my WR-8 this week, at 20 overall.
Like most of the WR this week, if he is brought up early in auctions someone usually overpays, and if he is brought up late, he is likely a steal. Either way, Boyd is locked in for another week as the primary weapon in this receiving corps.
This should be a shoot-out, as the Vegas total sits a little low in my opinion at 53.5. Points will be scored, and while Boyd will likely be locked up with shutdown corner Marshon Lattimore often, he will still likely see double-digit targets.
Boyd is coming off of a solid week against the Buccaneers, in which he caught nine passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. The Bengals will need to throw in this one to stay in it. So I love the value on Boyd.
Alshon Jeffery – Philadelphia Eagles – ($1)
Our last WR target is one not really in play in auctions, although an argument can be made that he is very close to it. You can usually get someone ranked a little higher like Robert Woods or Mike Evans at the end of the auctions, but Jeffery could easily outperform those two.
I think the addition of Golden Tate to this WR corps only helps Jeffery, as defenses will now have to account for him, as well as stud tight end Zach Ertz.
Jeffery kind of disappeared last week, with just four catches on five targes against the mighty Jaguars defense, but the two weeks prior, he caught 15 balls on 22 targets, three of which went for touchdowns.
There is no doubt Carson Wentz already has a solid rapport with Jeffery, and this match-up against Dallas is one in which he could excel in. In the 10-man drafts, he was usually available until late in the fourth round or so.

NFL DRAFT DFS: Week 10 Rankings: Top 50
My rankings are pretty easy to follow. I have ranked the top 50 overall. Following each player is their DRAFT CAV, which is generated by me, in parenthesis. Again, we will have the top ten QB’s, 20 RB’s and 20 WR/TE’s, and here they are!
***The CAV is the Current Auction Value. These are not my projections or what I am spending on these players. This dollar amount is to be used as a guide to get a feel for what these players are currently going for in my auctions. When the CAV’s are absent that means I have not (or maybe once) seen them drafted in a 6-man auction***
