NFL DFS: Week 10 FanDuel Early Only Cash Plays
Got your Week 10 FanDuel NFL DFS lineups all set and looking for a good reason to avoid tinkering with them? Make some more lineups on some smaller slates!! This article will focus on the top cash game plays for the 1PM only slate on Fanduel.
For the newbies, NFL DFS ash games are simply the games in the lobby that are 50/50 or close to that to win. These are basically all of the games other than the tournaments and guaranteed prize pool tournaments (GPP’s). Head-to-Head’s (H2H), 50/50, and double-ups would best summarize cash games.
Let’s continue by saying this, if you don’t like chalk, these slates are not for you. This article highlights who the top options are in my opinion, and whether they are popular plays or not is not any of my concern. I am just trying to give you a good starting point and a few plays to build around for this eight-game slate. With that said, let’s move along and see how the week nine sample lineup played out.
Week 9 Recap:
I am a big fan of transparency, and I will be the first to admit I do not always get them right. But I think if you appreciate the conclusions I come to by you doing further research yourself, then I know you will be back for another read. Again, I am always here to help so reach out to me on Twitter, and that sample lineup is just a SAMPLE cash lineup. Regardless, I will play it every week, and we will track it right here!
QB – Cam Newton – $8,600 – 21.18
RB – Kareem Hunt – $8,500 – 32.6
RB – James Conner – $8,000 – 25.8
WR – Kenny Golladay – $6,200 – 6.9
WR – Michael Crabtree – $6,300 – 4.7
WR – DJ Moore – $5,300 – 5.3
TE – Greg Olsen – $6,200 – 16.6
FLEX – Christian McCaffrey – $7,900 – 30.2
DEF – Buffalo Bills – $3,000 – 2
145.28
Another solid week, as the strategy of putting the primary focus on running backs and quarterback, then sifting through the value wide receivers worked once again. I ran this exact lineup in 100% of my cash games, and finished in the top-10 of all my 100-man 50/50’s in the $1-5 range. As always, throw your cash lineup is a large field GPP as well, just in case. That is one of the golden rules for cash game players. This lineup placed 3387th out of 35,714 entries in the $2.00 – 20-max GPP, which paid $5.00. Not huge, but profit is always the goal.
NFL DFS: Week 10 FanDuel Cash Plays (1PM Only)
QB – Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs – $9,800
Well here we are again. Spending up on quarterback in cash games. The cardinal sin of DFS. This is becoming so far from the truth every time electric Chiefs second-year start Patrick Mahomes takes the field. The fantasy numbers Mahomes is putting up this year even further exceeds what I expected, and I was all over him in the pre-season. He has thrown for over 300 yards in eight straight games which is incredible in itself, but I want to focus in on the last four games.
Granted, all of these four games were against bottom third defenses, but these numbers are amazing. In this stretch, Mahomes has thrown 15 touchdowns and amassed 1388 passing yards. That is 347 yards-per-game to go with 3.75 TD’s. That is also good for 29.405 FDP per game. I have a feeling Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the popular “spend down at QB” pick, but I want no part of that against a stingy Redskins defense.

RB – Kareem Hunt – Kansas City Chiefs – $9,000
You ever watch these games and wonder what the heck the head coach and coordinators are thinking? I don’t remember the exact numbers, but at one point Hunt had like three touches for almost 100 total yards and two touchdowns, and I believe he had like four or five carries at the half, while Mahomes and the offense destroyed the Browns through the air. They obviously know what they are doing, and it seems to be keeping Hunt fresh, which is the important thing.
Hunt was heavily favored in the game script in the second half thankfully, and he ended up with 17 carries, which was the most he has received since his 22 carry game against the Jaguars. He was featured here last week, and in the end, he found paydirt three times, and racked up 32.6 FDP. Hunt now has 13 total TD’s on the season, and once again needs to be in your lineups this week on this slate.
RB – Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints – $8,800
My take this week on cash games for this 1PM only slate is pretty simple. Do what it takes to roster Mahomes and Hunt, then make sure you lock in Kamara as well. There is plenty of value at the wide receiver position, and on top of that, there is only one worth paying up for anyways this week. That made the decision simple for me. With Duke Johnson Jr. in a fantastic spot as likely 80% chalk in cash games, plug him right into your FLEX and create from there.
If this game was in New Orleans, you would have a hard time convincing me that the Saints were not going to score 70 points. However, the Saints will travel to Cincy, where temps are expected to be in the low 40’s. The Bengals seem to be getting lit up by ground and by air, and I have a feeling Kamara will once again lead this team in touches by a mile.
Over the last two weeks against solid defenses in the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams, Kamara was dynamic, scoring five total touchdowns, averaging 27.35 FDP per game. Fading him or Hunt is foolish and unnecessary on this slate in my personal opinion.

WR – Michael Thomas – New Orleans Saints – $8,600
Looking at the top-tier of receivers this week, Thomas is the only one that really catches my eye. If you are new here, I am a #NeverJulio guy, so I know he scored and everything, and he gets a great match-up and all, but I’ll pass at $8,700.
After a slow couple of weeks, Thomas has really heated up over the last three weeks, capped by his monster 12 catch, 211 yard performance last week against the Rams. Like I mentioned with Kamara, if the game was in New Orleans, this would be a lock and Saints stack city, however, this will be a challenge for this offense with the conditions. If I were to pay up, Thomas is my guy, as this Bengals defense has tons of holes, but I’ll save it for a home game, and pay up for my QB and RB’s.
WR – Calvin Ridley – Atlanta Falcons – $6,600
While nothing has changed for me in the Julio department, I am still a big fan of Falcons number two guy Calvin Ridley. Look at it this way, the Browns defense will double-team Jones, leaving Ridley with lesser coverage, and probably giving him more looks this Sunday. Cleveland’s defense is struggling and ranks 30th overall, and this is certainly a match-up to exploit in one way or another.
Ridley was really quiet for three weeks after his five-TD’s in a two-week span, against bad defenses in the Saints and the Bengals. And while he didn’t really “break out” last week putting up a 6-71-1 line, it was much better than what we had seen during the three-game mini-slump. Ridley is a solid red zone threat for this offense with seven touchdowns already on the season, and my guess is he finds the end zone at least once on Sunday. I see no reason to pay $2,100 more for Julio Jones here.
WR – Larry Fitzgerald Jr. – Arizona Cardinals – $5,800
Well this is awkward. Man I love Fitz. The perfect example of a role model. Always working hard and still making grabs, Fitzgerald’s price has dropped to a price that I just cannot ignore, and it almost seems a bit disrespectful. I understand what he is working with, but this team will have to throw this week against the Chiefs. That could bode well for Fitz, as last week against the 49ers, he and rookie QB Josh Rosen finally seemed to find a groove together.
The two hooked up eight times on 12 targets, for 102 yards and a touchdown, and it marked the first time the veteran Fitzgerald topped 100 receiving yards on the season. This might sound corny, but this could be one of the last chances to roster an NFL legend at the tail end of his career in a great spot, who grinds it out every week, and will likely at least find the end zone this week. This is my favorite value play with Duke Johnson Jr., and the guy you see below in Bengals WR John Ross.
***Also Consider or FLEX: Tyler Boyd $7,800 – Tyreek Hill $7,600 – John Ross $5,600***

TE – Travis Kelce – Kansas City Chiefs – $8,000
As was mentioned with Mahomes and Hunt, this game will likely get out of hand pretty quick. However, the Chiefs are easily the most explosive team on the slate, and in this match-up you will want as many as you can fit. $8K is no joke for a tight end, and you will need Kelce to find the end zone at least once to pay off this hefty price tag.

The Cardinals are actually decent against the pass, but with all of the weapons at Mahomes’ disposal, the Chiefs will find plenty of match-up’s to exploit. Over the last two weeks Kelce has been a force, catching 13 passes on 19 targets for 178 yards and three touchdowns. While this is a cash plays article, I love Kelce in tournaments, but I can’t pay up here. I would much rather spend up elsewhere once again.
***Also Consider: David Njoku $5,400***
DEF – Chicago Bears – $5,000
At this point, it almost seems pretty foolish to fade the Bears defense in cash games. Even with All-Pro linebacker Khalil Mack out the last two games, this defense hasn’t skipped a beat. They are averaging almost 13 FDP a week which is pretty phenomenal, considering the next closest FDP average on this slate is the Patriots, at a mere 8.22 FDP per week.
After three fairly mediocre weeks scoring just five, seven, and five FDP points, respectively, this defense scored two touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills last week, and dropped 28 FDP. While it is a fade that carries risk, I will take the chance again this week. If I can get near 100 FDP again with just my three running backs and my QB, I will be in good shape again.
