Running backs ruled week as Ryquell Armstead, Dexter Williams and others put up huge performances in Week 11 to land on our players of the week list.

The players of the week space have been frequented by Tua Tagovailoa, Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins for most of the season. All three quarterbacks are enjoying fine seasons, with Tagovailoa and Murray the two leading candidates to win the Heisman. However, the trio is absent from the Week 11 players of the week as we make room for some new blood.

9. Jordan Love, QB: Utah State

  • 32/42 att, 491 yds, 5 TD

8. D’Andre Swift, RB: Georgia

  • 17 car, 186 yds, 1 TD

Swift was shot out of a cannon against the Auburn Tigers. His 77-yard score was one of the most impressive of the weekend and it helped lead the Bulldogs to an SEC victory.

7. Dexter Williams, RB: Notre Dame

  • 20 car, 202 yds, 2 TD

Williams pounded the Florida State defense on Saturday. His 200-plus rushing yards makes him the first running back to finish with that many against the Seminoles since Sam Dejarnette did it for Southern Miss back in 1982.

6. Jett Duffey, QB: Texas Tech

  • 37/47 att, 444 yds, 4 TD, 1 int
  • 17 car, 80 yds

With Alan Bowman sidelined, Duffey nearly led Texas Tech to an upset victory at home over Texas. He totaled over 500 yards by himself and proved that Kliff Kingsbury can develop any quarterback he gets his hands on.

5. Trayveon Williams, RB: Texas A&M

  • 31 car, 228 yds, 1 TD

Williams has been a constant workhorse during his career with the Aggies. On Saturday, he carried the rock 31 times and found the end zone as Texas A&M knocked off Ole Miss.

4. Lil’ Jordan Humphrey, WR: Texas

Humphrey made the catch of the weekend in college football against Texas Tech in overtime. Humphrey’s catch was nearly an identical replica of the famous Michael Crabtree one that lives on in the memory of college football fans to this day. He went over the defender in the same corner of the end zone as well.

3. Will Grier, QB: West Virginia

  • 25/39 att, 341 yds, 3 TD, 1 int

Grier continued to push his Heisman campaign on Saturday. His three touchdowns and 341 yards helped pace the West Virginia Mountaineers past TCU.

2. Taylor Cornelius, QB: Oklahoma State

  • 34/53 att, 501 yds, 3 TD

The senior quarterback put forward his best performance of the season in a one-point defeat against Oklahoma. With 501 passing yards and three touchdowns, he had a performance on Saturday that won’t be forgotten in the rivalry.

1. Ryquell Armstead, RB: Temple

  • 30 car, 210 yds, 6 TD

When a player scores multiple touchdowns, let alone a touchdown at all, it was a pretty good day. Temple’s Ryquell Armstead went out and had himself a legendary day on the ground with six total touchdowns. They needed every score too, as they held off Houston in a shootout.
