Welcome to this edition of NBA FanDuel DFS Targets from FantasyCPR.com. Here you will find players to target for tonight’s action, geared for cash games and tournament plays on FanDuel.

Welcome to the Monday edition of NBA FanDuel DFS Targets for NBA DFS. First, I will go over players to target at each position for tonight’s nine-game main slate, starting at the normal 7:00 PM ET.

I will give two targets at each of the guard and forward positions, and one center. Following the picks, will be the ever popular “sample lineup” we like to do here at FantasyCPR.  Some plays will be geared toward cash games, and some for GPP.

Some of course will also technically qualify as both. As we break each play down, I will be sure to specify which type of contests I am targeting that player in.

With NBA DFS, I can’t stress enough how important it is to not just plug-and-play these sample lineups. There is so much info that will drop over the course of the day for NBA, and you never truly know what to expect.

If you want to be a consistent winner for NBA, lock starts at 7PM ET on most week nights. Plan on being ready to tinker those lineups last second, accounting for all of that fabulous NBA news that nobody was expecting five minutes before, or even AFTER lock. It happens all of the time, so if you set your lineup now and forget it, it’s probably not going to work out for you in the long run.

NBA FanDuel DFS What To Expect Tonight:

Tonight we have a nice nine-game slate, and plenty of story lines and injuries to sift through, so I will try to keep this as brief as possible. First thing of note, it looks like Jimmy Butler finally got his wish, and was shipped out of Minnesota. Notable players in this trade will NOT be available for tonight’s games, so that opens up some value right away with some Wolves and Sixers. Philadelphia takes the biggest hit as far as tonight goes, as they parted with two starters in Robert Covington and Dario Saric to acquire Butler, and will need to make up those minutes somehow.

As far as injuries go, Russell Westbrook will remain out for the Thunder, making Paul George an outstanding play in all formats once again. Stephen Curry and Draymond Green are game-time decisions at this point, and it looks like Green will play, while Curry may sit again. This is one we hope to have some news on before lock, but it is possible we won’t.

One injury opening some value that may get overlooked a bit, is that Wesley Matthews is doubtful to play tonight for the Mavericks. Matthews eats up big minutes, and when he misses time, one name that always seems to benefit is JJ Barea. This also opens up some things offensively for Harrison Barnes as well, and he is also firmly in play tonight.

There are so many injuries and game-time decisions tomorrow that I could write a separate article just going through them, but we are here for targets. However, These injuries open everything up when you think about, and it is vital to know who may be sitting out tonight, and who may be benefiting because of it. We will go through a couple of other injury situations as we cover the targets, so without further delay, here they are.

NBA FanDuel DFS Point Guards

PG – Kyle Lowry – Toronto Raptors – $8,700 – (Cash)

At first glance today, it again looks like a good day to spend down at the PG position with the value available due to injuries. However, Lowry is fairly priced and extremely consistent. He is coming off of a less than stellar game against the Knicks in which he scored just 24.4 FDP, but he wasn’t really needed to do much with the return of Kawhi Leonard to the lineup. He also only played 26 minutes in that game, marking his lowest total of the year.

Tonight the Raptors will face the New Orleans Pelicans, in what should be a little pace bump for Toronto. The Pelicans hope to get starting PG Elfrid Payton back from injury, and if he plays I actually like Lowry a little more. Lowry and the Raptors have been playing phenomenal, off to a 12-1 start, and I think they keep it rolling again. Again, I am likely spending down here to fit AD and my center, but Lowry should once again be cash safe.

PG – Derrick Rose – Minnesota Timberwolves – $6,900 – (GPP)

So Minnesota finally dealt Butler last week, and newcomers Covington and Saric will not be expected to join their new team tonight. On top of that, Jeff Teague is likely to remain out for the Wolves, which will give Rose another start, and likely another huge amount of minutes.

The Wolves return home after a west coast road trip to face the Nets. In the last two games of the road trip, Rose looked like he was ready to lead to this team in the absence of Jimmy Buckets. Rose played 36 minutes against the Lakers last Wednesday, and dropped 38.1 FDP. He followed that with 35.7 in 34 minutes against Sacramento on Friday. Rose looks healthy for the first time in years, and many thought this production would never happen again. His price is getting up there at $6,900, but it is still affordable for tournament play.

***Value Plays: Patrick Beverley $4,800 – JJ Barea $4,200***

BOSTON, MA – DECEMBER 2: Devin Booker #1 of the Phoenix Suns carries the ball against the Boston Celtics during the second half at TD Garden on December 2, 2017 in Boston, Massachusetts. The Celtics defeat the Suns 116-111. (Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images) /

NBA FanDuel DFS: Shooting Guards

SG – Devin Booker – Phoenix Suns – $7,500 – (Cash)

Booker has played four games now since returning from his three game absence, and has really only lit up the scoreboard once in those games. He dropped 38 points with 9 assists on Boston on Thursday for 58.1 FDP, but Saturday was a different story for him. Booker scored just 12 points, had an all around rough day with four turnovers, and only scored 25.7 FDP against the Pelicans.

Tonight the Suns will battle with the Westbrook-less Thunder, and this is a fantastic game to target from all angles. These two teams play among the fastest in the league, and although we are still lacking Vegas totals at this point, this will likely be one of the highest on the slate. The discount on Booker compared to Zach LaVine or our next target is pretty massive, so Booker is one of my top place of the slate. $7,500 is just barely too cheap.

SG – DeMar DeRozan – San Antonio Spurs – $9,100 – (GPP)

There is no better time to roster DeRozan than after a dud. DeMar has been cruising along this year with his new squad, dropping three 60+ FDP games so far this season. However, DeRozan is coming off of his worst game with the Spurs, in which he shot just 5-12 from the field, and only managed 26.7 FDP.

The Spurs will travel to Sacramento to face the uptick Kings, who are putting up points at an incredible pace lately, and winning games. The price is high, but this is a great bounce-back spot for DeRozan. I will be really surprised if DeRozan doesn’t drop 45+ FDP tonight, as long as he keeps active on the glass. Not really known for being a rebounder, DeRozan grabbed double-digits rebounds in the last two games, and couple that simply with the amount of shots he will take, and we have the recipe for a ceiling game.

***Value Plays: Rodney McGruder $5,000 – Marco Belinelli $3,700***

NBA FanDuel DFS: Small Forwards

SF – Paul George – Oklahoma City Thunder – $10,300 – (Cash/GPP)

We already know Westbrook will remain out for this one, and PG13 has been filling the role of the superstar admirably while he misses time with that injured ankle. We have a loaded SF position once again tonight, with Kevin Durant and Leonard also top options. I will wait a bit on Kawhi until I know he is fully healthy, and Durant will likely see his usage take a hit again if Stephen Curry returns for this one. Because we simply don’t know what will happen with Curry and the Warriors yet, George easily becomes the correct target.

PG13 has been rather consistent as of late, and that was always kind of the knock on him. You never knew when he would just completely flop and have an awful game. That really hasn’t happened at all this season, and certainly seems to be a thing of the past, as George is averaging 44.56 FDP per game. He is coming off of back-to-back 20 point, six assist games, both with double-digit rebounds. I look for George to light up the Suns tonight, and paying up for him or Anthony Davis is my only dilemma at this point.

SF – Harrison Barnes – Dallas Mavericks –  $5,500 – (Cash)

I touched on it briefly above in the intro, but Wes Matthews is likely to sit this one out, and that should open up some scoring chances for a few others. Barnes isn’t really a scorer, but he has been known to step up from time to time and put up some numbers. I like this play at this price a little more than the value below, but only really because of the guaranteed minutes we are likely to get with Barnes.

Barnes had his best game of the season last week against the Wizards, scoring 19 points and grabbing 13 rebounds for 43.1 FDP. He went right back to being below average after that however, and even saw a decrease in minutes last game against the Thunder. I wouldn’t worry though. Barnes should back for his normal 30+ minutes, and hopefully can at least get us 30-35 FDP in this spot against the Bulls. This is not a cash lock as there is value below, but should be at least viable.

***Value Plays: Trevor Ariza $4,700 – Kelly Oubre Jr. $4,400***

DraftKings
NEW ORLEANS, LA – APRIL 19: Anthony Davis #23 of the New Orleans Pelicans dunks the ball against the Portland Trail Blazers during Game 3 of the Western Conference playoffs against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Smoothie King Center on April 19, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana. NBA FanDuel DFS: Power Forwards

PF – Anthony Davis – New Orleans Pelicans – $12,200 – (Cash/GPP)

Plenty of value to pay up for Davis today, and this looks like a fantastic spot for the big man. The Pelicans will need a big game in this one from Davis to keep up with the Raptors, and my guess is the Raptors bigs will have a hard time defending him tonight.

Davis is coming off two solid games. First, the domination vs the Bulls, in which I said I wasn’t sure if he was cash safe yet. Well he was, as he dropped 71.5 FDP and pretty much broke the slate. That was followed by a 26 point, 13 rebound, 58.6 FDP performance against the Suns. This is pretty simple if you think about it. You just have to ask yourself if you want to run the risk of him getting injured mid-game, and not returning. That is the only thing keeping Davis from being the top play every single night.

PF – Montrezl Harrell – Los Angeles Clippers – $6,500 – (GPP)

It is quietly becoming the Harrell show in Los Angeles, where the former Rocket big man seems to be the front-runner to fill the massive hole left by DeAndre Jordan‘s departure to the Mavericks. The Clippers went out and signed Marcin Gortat from Washington, but he has been abysmal, already playing his way out the rotation once. Then of course there is Boban Marjanovich, who will start here and there it sounds like, but it will likely be match-up based, considering he isn’t as athletic enough to cover the more athletic centers on defense. That leaves Harrell.

Harrell has really picked it up over the last four games, and is getting an increase in minutes because of it. He is coming off of a monster 26 point, nine rebound performance against the Bucks, and the Clippers will need him to stay hot in tonight’s clash with the Warriors.

***Value Plays: Jerami Grant $5,500 – Amir Johnson $3,500***

DraftKings
NEW YORK, NY – MARCH 23: Karl-Anthony Towns #32 of the Minnesota Timberwolves reacts to a call in the second half against the New York Knicks during their game at Madison Square Garden on March 23, 2018 in New York City. (Photo by Abbie Parr/Getty Images) /

NBA FanDuel DFS: Center Targets

C – Karl-Anthony Towns – Minnesota Timberwolves – $10,300 – (Cash/GPP)

One man with a huge smile now that the Butler is gone is probably the big KAT. Now we don’t know that, because Towns has been an exemplary professional, but with all of the rumors about Jimmy Butler and his well-known desire to leave Minnesota, Towns has been going out and doing his thing night in and night out, despite the distraction, and playing with a guy who doesn’t even want to be there.

More from FanSided

Towns will be coming off of a massive 39 point, 19 rebound performance against the Kings, which was good for 62.3 FDP, marking his third 60+ FDP game of the season. Joel Embiid is also a great play at $400 more, but with Butler gone, and this match-up against the Nets who have a rough time with Centers, I think I am all in on Towns.

***Value Plays: Jarrett Allen $5,900***
