The Wizards are finally playing winning basketball, and they’ll look to keep their modest streak going when they face the struggling Cavs.
Washington Wizards fans are letting out a collective “It’s about time!”
The Wizards will try to go for a third-straight win when the woeful Cleveland Cavaliers pay a visit to the nation’s capital tonight.
Washington was supposed to be among the contenders in the Eastern Conference, but a 1-9 start had them scrambling for excuses and their fans growing restless. With their dreams of contending in the East pretty much dashed, the Wizards are now trying to get back into the lower tier of the playoff picture.
Their winning streak began in Miami when star point guard John Wall dropped 28 points and nine assists, and Dwight Howard grabbed 16 rebounds, in a 116-110 victory over the Heat. Returning home for a five-game homestand, the Wizards opened it in grand fashion, rallying from a 10-point deficit to defeat the Orlando Magic 117-109.
Wall and Bradley Beal has led the resurgent Wizards, who will also face the Nets, Trail Blazers, and Clippers on this all-too-important homestand that could determine their fate for the rest of the season.

The Cavaliers fate is already sealed.
In their first season without King James, Cleveland (2-11) had struggled out of the gate. Granted, most of the season so far has been played without Kevin Love, who was supposed to be the featured player but is now recovering from foot surgery.
In fact, injuries have been a common theme for the Cavs this season, as they were without George Hill, Sam Dekker, Kyle Korver, and Cedi Osman in their 113-89 home win over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night.
One bright spot for Cleveland has been the play of rookie Collin Sexten. who poured in 16 points for the Cavs on Tuesday, and will need his speed and offense to counter the electrifying Wall.
Cleveland is currently 0-6 on the road.
