1. Kyle Freeland

To be clear, we haven’t seen Freeland linked with a trade to the Yankees anywhere this offseason. However, he is absolutely a pitcher that Cashman should be working feverishly to acquire. Adding a young ace like Freeland could position the team for contention for the next decade.

Freeland is still just 25-years-old and he posted an impressive ERA of 2.85 in 202.1 innings for the Rockies last year. If he can put up those numbers in Coors Field, just imagine what he could do pitching in Yankee Stadium for the majority of his starts.

Colorado would require an absolute fortune in return for Freeland’s services. It would likely take Andujar plus as many as four other top-quality prospects to peak Colorado’s interest. That price shouldn’t cause Cashman to hesitate even for a moment. Landing a player like Freeland could transform the Yankees pitching staff for years to come.

Dealing for Freeland is the biggest long shot on this list, but it illustrates the type of value the Yankees should place on Andujar. He cannot be moved for an above average starter. The only way he should leave the Bronx is if Cashman can get his hands on a bona fide ace.
