Could LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers finally be back on track? We’ll see when the Portland Trail Blazers pay a visit to Hollywood.
Finally, the Blazers/Lakers rivalry is beginning to heat up once again.
These two teams have already met twice, and both times have been entertaining. Now, they’ll meet for a third time in the young 2018-19 NBA season when the Portland Trail Blazers pay a visit to Hollywood to face off with LeBron James and the improved Los Angeles Lakers.
Speaking of improvement, the Lakers have seemingly found their rhythm to the season, going on a three-game winning streak to push their record back over .500 (7-6). But the winning streak hasn’t been without some on-court drama, as their latest victory, a 107-106 home win over the Atlanta Hawks, was only secured thanks to a put-back dunk by King James, and a buzzer-beating block by newcomer Tyson Chandler.
James has been at his usual best, leading the team in points (26.4) and assists (7.1), but the Lakers needed help in the middle, which necessitated the need to grab Chandler, and he is making a world of difference to the Lakers.
Their third date with the Blazers will mark the end of a much-needed successful homestand before they embark on a three-game trip out East. First, they’ll have to tangle, yet again, with the Blazers, who are putting a shock on the West.

Sitting second in the West with a 10-3 record, the Blazers have gotten off to a strong start thanks to Damian Lillard, balanced scoring up-and-down the roster, and strong play at home.
They’ve won six of their last seven games, with their lone loss coming at home at the hands of the Lakers. The Blazers got the best of L.A. in the season opener, also in Portland, and this tilt will mark their first matchup in L.A, and will also kickstart a six-game road trip for Portland, who are 3-1 outside of the Pacific Northwest.
