After a blazing hot start to the season, the Denver Nuggets have cooled off a bit. They can regain their fire against the Atlanta Hawks.

That’s not really a traditional saying, but it fits the vernacular of the Denver Nuggets right now. After a blazing hot start to the season, the Nuggets have hit a road bump; but, they have a great opportunity to regain their winning swagger when they entertain the Atlanta Hawks tonight.
For those who may have forgotten already, Denver (9-5) started the season on a torrid pace, winning nine of their first 10 games, and having the league — and us here at FanSided — wondering if the Nuggets were the next great Western Conference superpower.
Then, on Nov. 7, the Memphis Grizzlies dealt Denver a heartbreaking 89-97 loss in Memphis. That lost has now cascaded into four straight, which included three straight at home to start a four-game stint at the Pepsi Center.
While the winning flame has been reduced to a flicker, for now, this couldn’t have been a better time for the Nuggets to have the Hawks (3-11) pay a visit to the Mile High City. Denver is desperately looking to salvage what has been a disastrous homestand before they embark on the road for a three-game trip.
While, on paper, Atlanta may seem like an easy pushover to recapture the winning edge, they have played their last two opponents incredibly tough. The Hawks let a late lead go in a 106-107 loss to the Lakers, and played the Warriors hard until they collapsed late in a 110-103 loss in Oakland.
