NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Thursday November 15
We are back with another NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes for you daily fantasy players. We at FantasyCPR will have you covered with some snipes for a tonight’s slate. We at FantasyCPR will have you covered with some snipes for tonight’s slate.
Each post will provide a quick recap of players discussed in previous articles. Success is the clear goal, but it is important to understand our misses as well. See if we can find those trends that work, and areas we can improve.
Before we get into our specific Snipes from last night let’s take a quick look at the rest of the slate. The Blackhawks earned their first win under new head coach Jeremy Colliton in impressive fashion. Brent Seabrook scored the lone goal while Corey Crawford earned the shut out. The Jets took care of business at home as the Capitals Braden Holtby was a late scratch, forcing Pheonix Copley to take the net on back to back nights. TThe Avs pummeled the Bruins in the third period. They put up four goals in that period to make the final score 6-3. We will talk about Rantanen and MacKinnon in the next section. If you go down the list of the Avs roster, it seems like everyone got a piece of the action. The Golden Knights were truly dominant as they shut out the Ducks at home.
Oct. 14
Nathan MacKinnon – 1 goal and 1 assist. 2 shots on goal.
Jonathan Toews – 1 assist and 19:58 time on ice.
Mikko Rantanen – 1 goal and 2 assists. 4 shots on goal and 1 hit.
Tom Wilson – 1 shot on goal and 16:32 time on ice.
Dustin Byfuglien – 1 shot on goal. 1 hit and 1 block with 25:53 time on ice.
Marc-Andre Fleury – Shut out win! 29 saves.
NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Centers
Dylan Larkin Red Wings ($6,600)
The Red Wings hit the road following a 6-1 outburst Tuesday night. Larkin is one of the most dynamic forwards in the league right now. He has been one of the bright spots on this Red Wings team in the last four years including a 63 point season last year.
Larkin is on a three game point streak with a goal and two assists in that time. He has seen a boost in ice time, averaging over 20 minutes of ice time per game. Much of this is due to his ability to possess the puck with a CF% of 53.8 and a FF% of 54.3. I like his match up tonight against a Senators team that ranks 31st vs opposing centers. The Red Wings hit the ice on a four game win streak and will look to extend it to five following Larkin’s lead.
Sean Couturier Flyers ($5,600)
Couturier had a very slow start to the season, as did the Flyers in general. The ice crew in Philly is going to have to make sure to keep the ice frozen with the heat Couturier has brought lately. He has nine points in the last seven games and has points in four straight games. That includes a four point night against the Blackhawks on the 10th.
Last year Couturier more than doubled his career high in goals and raised his career high in points from 39 to 76. That’s a pretty huge leap and will take a lot of hard work to repeat. But the way he is playing right now is more than making up for his slow start. Couturier gets to run center for the top power play unit joining playmaker Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek and potentially James Van Riemsdyk if he is ready to go.
NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Wingers
Claude Giroux Flyers ($6,300)
Giroux comes at a bargain tonight as the 14th choice of wingers. He has been one of the elite skaters in the league for some time now and is off to a nice start. Giroux has 22 points on seven goals and 15 assists. He broke the century mark with 102 points and finished fourth in the Hart Trophy race.
Giroux and Couturier together are responsible for 16 power play points. The unit gets even stronger tomorrow when Van Riemsdyk is expected to make his debut. Giroux is known for his puck possession ability with a CF% of 54.2 and a FF% at a career high 56.2. He was the 2017-18 league leader in assists with 68 and is only four behind the leader through 17 games.
Brady Tkachuk Senators ($5,500)
Tkachuk entered his rookie season with a chip on his shoulder. He wanted to prove the three teams that passed him up in the draft made a mistake. The huge rookie was off to a hot start with seven points in his first eight games. He left with an injury in October that forced him to miss the last three weeks.
In his first game back November 8th, he did not provide much offensively but gave his body with five hits and three blocked shots in 14 minutes. The second game was a different story as Tkachuk provided his team with a goal and an assist to go along with three hits. If there is one thing we know about Tkachuk, it is the physical force that he is at just 18 years old.
NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Defense and Goalies
Thomas Chabot Senators ($6,300)
This may sound a little steep for a guy who has been held off the score sheet in the last two games. With both of those games on the road, Chabot gets to return home and is still averaging 5.1 FPPG. That number ranks second on the entire slate among defenders. Detroit ranks 28th in the NHL against opposing defense and Chabot has produced at a high clip.

He has 22 points on five goals and 17 assists. He only trails Morgan Rielly among defenders for points, and getting Tkachuk back into the mix should help. Chabot plays on the first power play unit. The amount of ice time he receives is reason enough to start him tonight averaging 23:17 of ice time per game.
Andrei Vasilevskiy Lightning ($7,600)
Normally I wouldn’t pick a goalie against the Penguins as they have been one of the best offensive teams the last few seasons. However, this is under the assumption that Sidney Crosby sits out with an upper body injury. We will have to keep our eyes peeled for word on Crosby’s availability. This is not a knock on Evgeni Malkin but as a team, it is hard to make up for the loss of a player like Sid. Vasilevskiy is one of the top goalies in the NHL and has proven it with 6.0 FPPG. This is the third highest among goalies tonight, yet he has dropped in price drastically with a match up against the Pens.
Pekka Rinne Predators ($7,900)
Rinne is my second favorite goalie on the slate. We’ll give you two goalies tonight in case Crosby suits up. Rinne would jump to my top spot against the Coyotes. The Preds are -140 road favorites and Rinne is one of the main culprits to their success. He is 6-1-1 with a ridiculous 1.47 GAA. Again, as I write this there is no confirmation in goal yet. But I will do everything I can to avoid another emergency goalie situation for the Capitals.
