The Los Angeles Clippers have proven to be a tough team to be on their home floor. This is bad news for the road-weary San Antonio Spurs.
The Los Angeles Clippers may be the surprise team of the Western Conference.
Predicted to be a team just trying to stay above water in the ultra-tough Western Conference before the season, the Clippers are now 8-5, a record that has surprised a lot of NBA pundits.
The majority of their eight wins has come in the friendly confines of the Staples Center, where the Clipper own a 6-1 record, among the best in the NBA, and have currently won four straight. The Clippers will have the golden opportunity to build on their home success when they entertain the road-weary San Antonio Spurs tonight.
The Clippers are proof that you don’t need s superstar to win ball games, bust a roster filled with talent that knows their jobs and does them well. Tobias Harris (20.4 points per game) is their go-to scorer, Patrick Beverley is providing his usual bulldog defense, and Montrezl Harrell is proving every game that he is an absolute steal.
Gluing this team together is Lou Williams, who is, arguably, one of the best sixth men in NBA history, and has come up big for the Clippers this season.
The Spurs (7-6), meanwhile, crawls into the Staples Center having lost their last three road contests, including a 116-96 drubbing at the hands of the lowly Suns in Phoenix on Wednesday night.
DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldrige have proven to be a formable duo, but there is inconsistency throughout the rest of the lineup, which is something they have to figure out of they want to compete in the West.
