Heinz Ketchup has always used “57 varieties” in its advertising and will grant Mahomes free ketchup for life if his passing touchdown total can match their 57 varieties. The ketchup giant tweeted their proposition to Mahomes Friday morning on Twitter.
The wager was brought to light thanks to Mahomes mentioning his love of the condiment, even putting ketchup on his steaks.

At the moment, Mahomes has 31 touchdown passes through ten games. Since that would equal to just over three touchdowns a game, Mahomes will have to up his current play, and average just over four touchdowns a game for the Chiefs’ next six contests. It will be a challenge, but it can be done.
Mahomes spoke with reporters this past Thursday about Heinz and their proposition, and it appears he wouldn’t mind sharing the wealth on his proposed lifetime deal, per ESPN.
"“I’m not opposed to it,” he said, when asked if he’d want ketchup for life. “If it happens and I get ketchup for life, I’ll be sure to share it with some of the offensive linemen.”Mahomes also said Thursday that he likes to put ketchup on another favorite dish when asked about putting ketchup on steak.“I don’t think it’s that weird, but I put it on my macaroni and cheese. People seem to think that’s a weird thing. Some people think that’s disgusting, but it’s good to me,” he said."

Currently, Peyton Manning holds the NFL record for touchdown passes with 55, set in 2013. If Mahomes wants an endless supply of ketchup, he first must focus on defeating the 9-1 Los Angeles Rams this coming Monday night. Both teams will enter with a 9-1 record and could serve as a prelude to a Super Bowl matchup in February.
