The streaking Los Angeles Clippers will attempt to bring some of their home magic on the road when they take on the Nets in Brooklyn.
The Los Angeles Clippers have made their mark on this young season by taking advantage of their home-heavy schedule. Now, they’ll attempt to take some of that home magic on the road when the Clippers open a three-game road trip against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Clippers are off to a surprising 9-5 start, with seven of those nine wins coming within the friendly confines of the Staples Center. Coming off of a three-game homestand, the Clippers defeated three of the top teams in the league, with the latest home court victim being the road-weary San Antonio Spurs on Nov. 15.
L.A. is doing it with a balanced, exciting offense, and there really is no telling how high the Clippers can fly. If they want to fly a bit higher, however, they’ll need to play a bit better on the road, where four of their five losses have come at.
The Clippers will have a great opportunity to rectify that situation on their current road swing, which, will also see L.A. visit the lowly Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards. Their game against the Nets, however, won’t be a walk in the park.
Brooklyn (7-9) has played their opponents tough, and the young Nets are coming off of a 115-104 victory at the Wizards on Friday night. Playing without Caris LeVert, the Nets win in Washington was a total team effort, led by Spencer Dinwiddie’s 25 points on 8-13 shooting from the floor.
D’Angelo Russell also played brilliantly, scoring 23 points, and their defense shut down the Wizards high-scoring backcourt of Bradley Beal and John Wall, holding the duo to just 14-37 shooting from the field.
The Clippers took both games from the Nets last season.
