7. Marvin Jones Jr. vs Carolina

Who’s ready for another Marvin Jones Jr. game? If Detroit is going to have any chance against Carolina, they’re going to need him. Trading away playmaker Golden Tate has definitely weakened the receiving core but Jones could provide a big spark to the offense.

The Lions have lost three straight and sit at 3-6 and last in the NFC North. Flashback three weeks though, in the loss to Seattle Jones had his best game of the year with seven receptions for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Jones has five touchdowns on the year but only two over the last four weeks.

It’s not for a lack of targets or yards per catch. He’s averaging 14.5 yards per reception this season and has at least three receptions in all but one game this season.

Carolina was decimated last week by the Steelers and it began and ended with big-play ability on both sides of the ball. Jones has the big play ability that the Lions need and if he and Kenny Golladay can become a cohesive duo they’ll at least compete more from the jump.

I don’t see the Lions winning this game, especially after last week for both of these teams, but I think if any receiver has a big day it’s Marvin Jones Jr. Give him the flex play!
