Dana Holgorsen has West Virginia sitting at second in the Big 12 standings at 8-1 with a 6-1 conference record. After escaping Austin with a one-point win, Will Grier and the Mountaineers showed no mercy against TCU in Morgantown. West Virginia won 47-10 and Grier threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns. Behind their Heisman candidate quarterback, the Mountaineer’s passing attack is averaging 337.3 yards per game.
Oklahoma State got off to a rocky start in Big 12 play. After losing three of their first four conference games, Mike Gundy and the Cowboys stunned the high-powered Texas Longhorns in primetime, winning 38-35. However, the team has struggled to finish the past two weeks.
Against Baylor in Waco, Oklahoma State held a three-point lead in the last minute until Charlie Brewer hit Denzel Mims for the game-winning touchdown with just seconds left. The following week in Norman, the Cowboys hung with Kyler Murray and the Sooner offense all game. Oklahoma State scored a late touchdown to bring them within a point in the last minutes but failed to convert a two-point conversion. The Cowboys are now 5-5 as they look to become bowl eligible over their last two games.
Saturday afternoon’s game will be nationally televised on ABC and can be streamed on Watch ESPN and the ESPN app.
