Week 2 of the college basketball season has flown by, and there were some upsets in the AP Top 25. What could the Week 3 rankings look like on Monday?

Another week of college basketball is in the books, and it’s starting to look like teams are separating themselves as contenders and pretenders.

Sure, it’s still early in the season, but who would have seen a team like Villanova, who won the national title a year ago, start the season 2-2 with a blowout home loss to Michigan and overtime defeat against Furman in Week 2? The Wildcats still have plenty of time to turn things around, but a back-to-back title isn’t looking likely at this point.

Michigan, on the other hand, exacted revenge on Villanova after getting blown out in the national title a year ago, beating the Wildcats by 27 on the road. The Wolverines could be in for a big jump this week after winning three games and improving to 5-0 on the season.

Another team that made a decent run last season and found itself in the preseason AP Top 25 was Syracuse, but the Orange, too, had a rough week, losing two games and facing a drop from the rankings completely.

There will be some new blood in the AP Top 25 as teams like Indiana and Iowa could push for a spot, and West Virginia, who would have gotten back in with an unbeaten week, dropped another game to an unranked foe, falling to 1-2 on the year before a game on Sunday.
