Kenan Thompson as LaVar Ball is worth more than anything BBB can try to sell

There are few things in this world more perfect than Kenan Thompson as LaVar Ball on SNL.

It’s been a rough season so far for the Los Angeles Lakers, with even LeBron James failing to help the team get through its growing pains. From the questions about the changes to the roster and the drama surrounding Luke Walton and Magic Johnson, it’s been tumultuous to say the least.

Outranked in the power rankings of crazy is LaVar Ball. He used to be the top distraction in Los Angeles but is now an afterthought in the LeBron era. One person hasn’t forgotten about him, though, and that man is Kenan Thompson.

Kenan dusted off his LaVar impression for the Weekend Update and it’s the type of high comedy we don’t deserve to get for free.

Among the things he talked about, LaVar Ball gave shout-outs to his four sons including LaMorpheus who was recently rescued from The Matrix.

We also got an update on what life in Lithuania was like, which is all meant to help LaVar end up as the coach of the Lakers.

He also unveiled his latest product — a shoe that when your grandma spits into it will tell you what your heritage is with 14 percent accuracy.

Thompson is a superstar on SNL, and there’s almost never a skit in which he doesn’t become the best thing about it. When he gets his moments to open the throttle and just go for it — like with LaVar — it’s a thing of beauty to watch.

All signs point to him leaving at the end of the season to finally get his own sitcom on NBC. It’s a loss to no longer have these moments week to week, but it’s a reminder that we need to cherish Keenan for all he’s worth — which is a whole damn lot.
