What we learned, what we took away and what the future holds for the superstars of WWE following Sunday night’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event.
The 2018 edition of WWE Survivor Series took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday night as Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live went head to head in a series of matches, including some champion vs. champion bouts, some dream matchups and of course, some traditional Survivor Series elimination matches.
The only match not included in the battle for brand supremacy was the WWE Cruiserweight Championship bout. There was plenty of action throughout the night, so let’s go ahead and get into it, starting with the 10-on-10 tag team traditional Survivor Series matchup.
10-on-10 Tag Team Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match (Kickoff Match)
Team RAW: Bobby Roode & Chad Gable, The Ascension, Lucha House Party, The B-Team, The Revival
Team SmackDown: The Usos, The New Day, SAnitY, The Colons, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson
What we learned: There wasn’t a ton to learn in this matchup and it took a while to get into this one. There were a few fun spots early on but some sloppy ones in there as well. Having 20 men, plus a few on the outside, to start always makes things look a little crammed. But once a few teams were eliminated, things got really fun as The New Day, The Usos, The Revival and Bobby Roode and Chad Gable put on a show with some incredible wrestling. It came down to The Usos, the captains of the SmackDown Live team, and The Revival for the RAW squad, and they were really fun to watch in the ring together. This is obviously something we haven’t seen and I’d certainly have no problem seeing more of this down the line when someone switches brands. In the end, The Usos picked up the win for the blue brand. Fun start.

What’s next: There’s not much to predict here. All of these teams will go back to their respective brands and just get back into it with one another. This win probably puts The Usos in line for a shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
