Hey Guys! I’m back with your NBA DraftKings articles and they all are dedicated to my ladies grandma, Dora, who just passed. An amazing woman who I’ll miss the fist pounds from. Thank you for welcoming me into your family, Dora. You will be missed.
NBA DraftKings Point Guard
Ben Simmons vs. Phoenix Sun | Points Total: 223.5
Salary: $8,900
Ben Simmons is close to averaging a double-double with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assist and kicks off his week versus the Phoenix Sun. Simmons and Embiid have been adjusting to their new teammate, Jimmy Butler, but not in a bad way. In his last game, Simmons scored 53.75 fantasy points, getting back to his usual ways after scoring 34.5 and 23.25 fantasy points after Butler joined the Sixers. On the defensive end, the Phoenix Suns are giving up 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assist to the point guard position. The game has a nice total of 223.5 points between the two teams. The Sixers play at a high pace with 108 possessions per game while the Suns tend to play on the “slower” end with 102 possessions per game. This game could turn in to a blow out if the Sixers click on all cylinders but if it stays close, Simmons could continue his consistent 41 fantasy points and get back on track.
NBA DraftKings Shooting Guard
Gordon Hayward vs. Charlotte Hornets | Points Total: 217.5
Salary: $5,900
The Boston Celtics have been using Gordon Hayward in the most “safe” way possible. Besides Saturday, Hayward has played 30 minutes or more in his previous four games with Saturday just being 26 minutes. But Hayward does get to face the Charlotte Hornets who rank last against shooting guards. Knowing that Hayward does play shooting guard and the small forward position, he still should see a good Monday. The Hornets give up 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to the position. The plus side is that both teams play at a pace to have a point total of 217.5 points due to Charlotte averaging close to 106 possessions per game and the Celtics average 103 possessions per game. If the Celtics stay on par with the previous four games, Hayward should see around 30 minutes, seeing him to break his 25 fantasy points that he is averaging per game on the season.
NBA DraftKings Small Forward
Rudy Gay vs. New Orleans Pelicans | Points Total: 222.5
Salary: $5,300
Rudy Gay has been above average this season for the San Antonio Spurs and he gets another good shot on Monday. He did hit the starting lineup against the Warriors last night so wait to see the lineup for tonight. Gay is averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds and averaging 29 fantasy points on the season already. Hitting value in his last three games, he should be able to keep up with that pace tonight. The Pelicans are giving up 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assist to the small forward position so far. Plus with another high point total for the game means that both teams may find more value out of their players. The Spurs do play at a slower pace with 102 possessions per game versus the Pelicans 108 per game. Gay will have his opportunities to return value.

NBA DraftKings Power Forward
Blake Griffin vs. Cleveland Cavaliers | Points Total: 211.5
Salary: $10,100
Last time we locked Blake Griffin in with a low point total, we had a great first half and that was it so we’re going to try it one more time. This time Griffin gets to face the Cleveland Cavaliers who rank 28th against Power Forwards, allowing almost a double-double with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assist. Blake Griffin almost has the exact stat line with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assist per game. The Detroit Pistons play at a pace of 107 possessions per game which will most likely give them the upper hand for a blowout while the Cleveland Cavaliers play at a pace of 101 possessions per game. Griffin is just hard to pass up and not lock in while he’s averaging 47 fantasy points on the season so far but his previous games haven’t been up to par but this is most likely his bounce back game.
NBA DraftKings Center
Deandre Ayton vs. Philadelphia 76ers | Points Total: 223.5
Salary: $6,500
This is basically a “proving myself” game for Deandre Ayton who gets to face off against Joel Embiid tonight. Embiid said he was going to kick Ayton’s butt (in a nice term) during the preseason and now we get to see what really happens. You would probably roster Embiid before Ayton but Ayton is having a nice rookie season, averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds. The 76ers are giving up 21 points and 13 rebounds to Centers. We’ve covered the possessions per game for both teams as the Suns averaging 102 possessions and the Sixers average 108. We all know that Embiid plays mind games with whoever he faces and Ayton is young so he could get to him early like he does to Andre Drummond, but I expect this to be the complete opposite.
