Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Stats: 17 carries, 115 yards and one touchdown

The Baltimore Ravens have been searching for an answer at the running back position all season long. They entered the season thinking that Alex Collins would carry the load. However, he has struggled with ball security and just hasn’t been overly productive.

This week the Ravens game Gus Edwards a shot and rode him when he found success. At this point, the Ravens owe nothing to Collins or the other running backs on the roster.

They need to go with the guy who is producing which means that Edwards should get more work moving forward. The problem is that Baltimore could just as quickly ride the next hot hand and move on from Edwards.

It’s an interesting scenario for fantasy players as it’s not crazy to consider dropping Collins in favor of Edwards. This has been an extremely disappointing year for Collins and a source of frustration for  his fantasy owners.

Those who play in a PPR league shouldn’t expect much help in the passing game from Edwards. He’s more of a grinder who will work between the tackles. Either way, Edwards is worth a flyer this late in the season.
