Carmelo Anthony’s stint in Houston didn’t work out as planned. However, there are five teams who could still take a gamble on his scoring abilities.

It’s becoming painfully clear to all of us that the 2018 version of Carmelo Anthony is not the same Melo’ we were used to seeing.

His back-to-the-basket, ball-dominating style of play doesn’t fit in the high-pace game that has taken over the NBA landscape. It didn’t work out in Oklahoma City, where he couldn’t mesh with the fast-paced offense Billy Donovan installed and didn’t want to be the sixth man off the bench.

The Melo Experiment in Houston was doomed to failure as well. Yes, Anthony still commands a lot of respect as a scorer, and he can still get you a good 18 points some nights, but he has to go to a team that will make him a feature part of the offense and his efficiency doesn’t quite justify that anymore.

The odds of him being useful again are looking increasingly long, but here are five teams that could still take the risk.
