DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks November 20

We have a big week for DraftKings EuroLeague this week with two rounds, which means four days of games instead of two! We start on Tuesday, but this isn’t nearly as top heavy as usual. We have Calathes and Shved both on the same days this week, so that’s going to make for some interesting lineups.

The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!

Guards:

The only two guards over $10,000 on this slate are Kostas Sloukas and Vasilije Micic. I prefer Micic because of the consistency, and they both have really good matchups in round 8.

All of the top guards have good matchups, so it’s going to be difficult to figure out how to attack this. The whole Efes backcourt has played well lately, so you could try a Micic/Beaubois/Simon stack against Tel Aviv. Those three combined are going to set you back $28,600, leaving you about $7,100 per forward. If only using two, I honestly can’t tell you which one to leave out. Micic has been the most consistent, but the other two had at least 30 DraftKings points last round with Simon doing that two rounds in a row.

Deandre Kane is about the only Tel Aviv guard that I would trust right now. Michael Roll has been inconsistent. The hot start for Scottie Wilbekin is firmly in the rear view. He can have solid games, but with Ramon Sessions now on the team, he simply wont have the court time to put up 40 DraftKings points anymore.

Facundo Campazzo could be in for a huge game with Sergio Llull missing round 8 and possibly round 9. That makes Jaycee Carroll a sought after mid range value pick as well. This is going to be the place to attack for those that don’t stack Efes.

Stefan Jovic is the more consistent of the Munich guards, but Nihad Dedovic has the higher upside. Still, the fact that Dedovic has never hit 3x value for this price has me on Jovic instead. I would also play Petteri Koponen as a value play before paying up for Dedovic with so many other solid top options.

If Melih Mahmutoglu remains in the starting lineup, he is worth a look for just $4,800. Mahmutoglu put up 15.25 DraftKings points in his first start in round 7 so decent value is there.

Gran Canaria doesn’t have a lot of good guards, and this matchup with Real Madrid looks ominous. However, with Llull out, the Real Madrid defense takes a hit. I’m willing to take a shot on Albert Oliver continuing his hot streak here.

Forwards:

Adrien Moerman has managed to put up some pretty big numbers despite all of the good guard play for Efes. He has at least 30 DraftKings points in three of the last four games, and has a great chance to do that again against Tel Aviv, who is notoriously weak up front.

Despite a rough round last week that helped torpedo my lineup, Gustavo Ayon is in yet another intriguing position. Gran Canaria isn’t all that big up front, and Real Madrid will be without Sergio Llull in round 8. That could spell a big game for Ayon. Georgios Printezis is worth a look as well. Printezis has played more than 30 minutes in each of the last two rounds, and has a pretty good matchup with Munich here.

Anthony Randolph has been more consistent than Ayon, and could also see a bit of an uptick in scoring with Llull out. DJ Strawberry remains the best option for Gran Canaria, and this is a great matchup for him. However, can you get past the inconsistency? If not, Chris Evans has a much better floor and is cheaper, but doesn’t have the upside of Strawberry.

You want consistency? Nikola Milutinov has 19.75 DraftKings points in each of the last three rounds. If you want 3x value, you are going to have to look elsewhere though.

Nicolo Melli looks like a very strong option against crosstown rival Darussafaka. However, his inconsistency is about as maddening as that of teammate Luigi Datome.

Vladimir Lucic has at least 15 DraftKings points in every game this year. That is the kind of consistency that I can get behind, but I don’t know if he can hit that elusive 3x value. Lucic is probably better left for cash games.

Derrick Williams is still adjusting to the Euroleague, but he has had a couple of big games. The upside and the matchup make him worth a look here.

Eulis Baez has been huge for Gran Canaria lately, putting up 61.25 DraftKings points in 46 minutes over the last two games. His price still isn’t adjusted to the recent output, so Baez will be chalky, but necessary if you want to save some money up front.

Last round should have been a time for Janis Timma to shine with Axel Toupane out, but instead he had zero stats in only seven minutes of court time. Timma is capable of putting up good stat lines, but this indicates that not only is his leash short if his shot isn’t falling, but he will also have trouble getting back into the game at all. That probably makes him too much of a risk, even in GPP formats.
