NBA Power Rankings: How far will the Warriors fall?
By Ian Levy
The Pacers had another strong week, beating the Heat and Hawks before steamrolling the Utah Jazz. They’ve been solid on both sides of the ball (13th in offensive efficiency, third in defensive efficiency) and hold the sixth-best point differential in the league. At the beginning of the season, it wasn’t clear if Indiana belonged in the same tier with the Raptors, Celtics and 76ers. The Bucks have already crashed that party and as the Pacers keep rolling the top of the Eastern Conference only becomes cloudier.
Victor Oladipo has been sensational, following up on his brilliant campaign last season. But their depth has been just as important this season. Tyreke Evans hasn’t recaptured his form from last season yet and the Pacers are still running eight-deep with a rotation of players providing at least average production. The three-star model is what every team is chasing but Indiana is a reminder that just keeping bad players out of your rotation can carry a team a long way as well.
