During the 2018 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints swung a deal with the Green Bay Packers that sent their 2019 first round pick to the Pack. With how well the Saints are playing this season, that pick is likely to be close to the end of the first round, so the Packers did not get a great return in the trade.
In fact, the Saints could be the best overall team in football, and now that Drew Brees has a defense, he could be headed towards his second Super Bowl title. The Packers, on the other hand, have been as inconsistent as they come this season, and currently find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs.
With their first of two first round picks, the Packers should bring in a safety, and Deionte Thompson is the best at his position group in this draft class. With pick No. 2, they may want to add another piece to their secondary, bringing in a player like Byron Murphy from Washington to add to an already young, talent cornerback group.
The Packers have a long way to go when it comes to fixing this roster this upcoming offseason, but they do have Aaron Rodgers, and you are always going to be a threat as long as he is under center. Adding both Murphy, and Deionte Thompson earlier in the first round would go a long way in helping them get better against the pass for the foreseeable future.
