NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Wednesday November 21
We are back with another NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes for you daily fantasy players. We at FantasyCPR will have you covered with some snipes for a tonight’s slate. With 28 NHL teams sharing the action, it can be difficult to sort through all of our options. It is always recommended to do some of your own research on a slate, but we are here to help take some of the weight off of your shoulders.
Each post will provide a quick recap of players discussed in previous articles. Success is the clear goal, but it is important to understand our misses as well. See if we can find those trends that work, and areas we can improve.
Nov. 20
Connor McDavid – 1 goal and 2 assists. 3 shots on goal.
Leon Draisaitl – 1 goal and 2 assists. 2 shots on goal and 1 hit. GWG in overtime
Logan Couture – 1 goal and 1 shot on net. 2 hits and 1 blocked shot.
Evander Kane – 5 shots on goal and 2 hits.
Joonas Donskoi – 1 goal and 1 shot on net. 2 hits and 1 blocked shot.
Erik Karlsson – 2 shots on goal and 25:11 time on ice. 2 hits and 2 blocked shots.
Martin Jones – 19 saves and 4 goals against.
NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Centers
Jack Eichel Sabres ($7,400)
The Sabres are on some kind of hot streak right now. Six wins in a row has moved them up to third in the Atlantic Division. What better way for DFS fans to ride the hot streak by plugging in their top young stud into our line up? Eichel was the “consolation” prize in the 2015 NHL Draft after Connor McDavid.
Eichel has not added much in the goal category yet, but it is just a matter of time before that picks up. Hockey is a game of momentum and streaks, and right now Eichel is on the rise. In his last three games he has a goal and four assists. He has not been shy shooting the puck either with 5+ shots in four out of his last five games.
Elias Pettersson Canucks ($6,500)
Not quite man, myth, or legend yet. Let’s call him The boy, the myth the rookie for now. However, Pettersson has been felt unreal this season and playing nothing like a rookie. In fact, he is off to a legendary start with Vancouver. He went cold for a four game stretch, but has started another goal streak. Back-to-back may not sound like much of a streak but before his four games pointless streak, Pettersson had a point in nine of his first 11 games.
Mathew Barzal Islanders ($5,500)
Tonight is a battle of New York. The Islanders against Rangers. Both teams will look for an edge with bragging rights on the line. Vegas odds give a slight edge to the Rangers at home, which could lead to less ownership of the Islanders. What I am looking for is a high scoring game.
Barzal is on a five game point streak with a goal and five assists. Last years Calder Trophy Award winner is kind of the flip side of Laine as more of a set up guy with 22 goals and 63 assists. He is off to a similar start this year with two goals and 16 assists.
NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Wingers
Jeff Skinner Sabres ($6,500)
If you are picking Eichel for your squad, consider adding Skinner as well. The former Carolina Hurricanes winger is leaving his mark on his new team. Skinner has 14 goals and eight assists through 21 games. November has been extremely kind to Skinner with eight goals and two assists.
Skinner plays on the first power play unit with Eichel. He has three PP goals and three assists. His possession metrics are outstanding with a CF% of 55.7 and a FF% of 55.4.
Patrik Laine Jets ($6,700)
Laine is fresh off of a hat trick Monday night on the road in Vancouver. This is his second hat trick of the month, and has reached 11 goals this season. On a huge slate, Laine falls down the list of wingers to choose from. There is risk in playing him as he is pretty dependent on goal scoring, but the reward can be great if he can stay hot.
After a 64 point rookie season, Laine went on to exceed his goal total by eight to reach 44 goals. He will go up against a Flames team that ranks 14th in the NHL against opposing right wingers. He can be deadly on the power play as part of the first unit. In large part due to his two hat tricks, Laine has eight goals in his last 10 games.
Drake Batherson Senators ($3,900)
The rookie has come up huge since joining the team three games ago. In that time, Batherson has contributed two goals and three assists. He is really being eased into the line up, and mainly being used in the offensive zone. As proof of that, Batherson has started in the offensive zone 81.3% of his shifts and capitalized on his opportunities. We need value somewhere, what better way than with a rookie that is off to a hot start.
NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Defense and Goalies
Rasmus Dahlin Sabres ($4,200)
Finishing off a Sabres stack is the first overall pick in last year’s NHL Draft Dahlin. He is finally starting to flex his offensive skill set during their six game win streak. Dahlin has a goal and four assists in their last five games. He may not be part of the top defensive pairing, but he has earned the trust by being placed on the top power play unit.

The 18-year old comes in at a very reasonable price. That price should help you roster either the goalie of your choice, or a few high-powered offensive options. He is getting solid ice time for a rookie averaging just over 18 minutes per game. However, over the last five games that number has increased. Dahlin has even seen a few games exceeding 22 minutes.
Roman Josi Predators ($6,700)
Josi on the other hand is one of the more expensive defensive options on the slate. He is averaging 4.1 FPPG and gets to match up against a Blues team going through a coaching change. Josi this season is averaging over 25 minutes of action per game and gets time with the second power play unit. The Predators are heavily favored in tomorrow’s match up. Most importantly though is his three game point streak that he will look to add to.
Devan Dubnyk Wild ($8,100)
Doooooob! I wonder if he ever gets rattled playing on the road. It’s hard to decipher a Doob from a boo. Some may shy away from Dubnyk in this match up against a young Senators team. He currently boasts a 2.36 GAA and averaging 5.6 FPPG at home. The Wild come in as -240 favorites which sounds great as we seek a win. Either way, the Senators get their fair share of shots, giving Dubnyk plenty of opportunities to rack up saves.
Pekka Rinne Predators ($8,500)
Rinne is the most expensive goalie on the slate. Once again we are chasing that win, and the Predators have the second best odds according to VegasInsider at -180. If we remove Laurent Brossoit and Calvin Petersen, two goalies with limited starts, Rinne comes in with the second best FPPG of 6.1 trailing Frederik Andersen by a tenth of a point.
An NHL goalie is never a sure thing, but Rinne has not disappointed this year. He boasts a league-leading save % of .942 and a record of 8-2-1. In his last start, he held a high-powered Lightning team to two goals on 31 shots earned the win.
