The Premier League is back after the international break and there are plenty of exciting fixtures to look forward to. Claudio Ranieri’s first game in charge of Fulham comes against Southampton while Chelsea travel across London to face Tottenham at Wembley.
Bournemouth host Arsenal on Sunday in a match that has the potential to feature lots of goals. Liverpool will look to maintain their unbeaten streak as they travel to Watford while Burnley host Newcastle on Monday to round off this matchweek. Here are five bold predictions for all the action.
5. Kane and Alli lead Tottenham past Chelsea
The late game on Saturday sees Tottenham host Chelsea in what should be a tense encounter. Chelsea still haven’t lost this season while Tottenham have won four in a row in all competitions and look to have found their feet after a stuttering start to the season.
Despite Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the season, they’re only one point ahead of Spurs in the league and this match presents Mauricio Pochettino’s side with the opportunity to leapfrog their London rivals.
Last year this fixture produced victories for the away side on both league meetings and Chelsea will be hoping that this stat continues on Saturday. At points, Maurizio Sarri’s side have looked unplayable and at other points in the season they’ve looked a little off the pace.
However, no matter how badly Chelsea are playing they never think they’re beaten. They’ve perhaps ridden their luck in some matches but for the most part their play has been great to watch and opposing sides have struggled to match their skill level.
Tottenham should present Chelsea with a very tough task if they want to maintain their unbeaten start. Harry Kane is once again performing at such a high level and demonstrating to world soccer why he’s so highly thought of.
That, coupled with the fact players like Dele Alli and Erik Lamela can punish opposition defenses at any time, makes Tottenham a good bet for Saturday. Alli and Kane will find the back of the net as Spurs run out 3-2 winners over Chelsea.
