The Wolverines have lost 13 of their last 14 games against the Buckeyes and Jim Harbaugh is looking to pick up his first win over Urban Meyer since arriving in Ann Arbor. Ohio State meanwhile knows their only shot at the College Football Playoff is a win over Michigan.
With their lone loss coming to Notre Dame in Week 1, Michigan understands that a win over the Buckeyes puts them that much closer to making their debut in the College Football Playoff format.
The last time this game had playoff implications was in 2016, which featured the infamous J.T. Barrett fourth-down run and Curtis Samuel winning the game in overtime. College GameDay will certainly mention those moments along with what to expect on Saturday.
Not many rivalries are as personal as the Buckeyes and Wolverines. It’s one of the best in college football for a reason and it’s a game that consistently features big implications as a result.
