The hosts currently sit in ninth place in the league, but are only one point away from the top six. A win on Saturday could go a long way towards separating themselves from the rest of the middle of the table. Everton will field a very talented team on Saturday, with one of the most notable players being Richarlison. The Brazilian winger scored a winner for his country against Cameroon on Tuesday, his second international goal in only his sixth cap. Richarlison is also Everton’s top scorer in the Premier League this season, with six goals. He’s made a big impact on the club in his first season with them, and the team is surely hoping his positive form will continue for the rest of the season.
The visitors are currently in the relegation zone, but claimed their first win of the season against Brighton in the last gameweek. Many expected Cardiff to have a rough time in their first season back in the Premier League, and so far those predictions have been correct. However, even though they’re currently in 18th, a win against Everton could very well be the difference between relegation or staying up for another season. This game looks like it will be an uphill battle for the smaller team on paper, but they’re surely accustomed to the role of underdog by this point in the season.
