The LSU Tigers have never lost to the Texas A&M Aggies since A&M joined the SEC. Will Jimbo Fisher’s team be able to knock down LSU in College Station?
Despite the fact that the LSU Tigers come into this game as the 7th ranked team in the country, they are not the favorite in their final game of the season. That would be the Texas A&M Aggies here. And the Aggies are favored against an opponent that they haven’t been able to beat even once since Texas A&M joined the SEC back in 2012. The last time that A&M beat LSU came all the way back in 1995.

That could change this year. The Aggies are hopeful that Jimbo Fisher can do what Kevin Sumlin never could and take down the Tigers. If A&M is actually going to do it, the Aggies will need to slow down an already inept LSU offense and find a way to score some points against a talented Tigers defense. The first task is doable. The second task will be a bit more difficult.
Texas A&M’s Kellen Mond has been notably better this season than he was in 2017. This season, Mond has essentially doubled his production from a season ago, throwing for 2,680 yards, 17 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions. His completion percentage has jumped up to 59.1 percent from 51.5 percent a season ago. He’s been an effective passer and has led Texas A&M’s offense well all year.
But against LSU, Mond will face a strong defense that has picked off 16 passes this season. The Tigers don’t let quarterbacks have success against them and opposing quarterbacks have only completed 51.2 percent of their passes. Those opposing quarterbacks have thrown for a meager 199.5 yards per game.

Prediction: Texas A&M has everything it needs on defense to beat the Tigers, but will the Aggies be able to generate enough on offense to pull off the win? While Kellen Mond has been significantly better this season, it’ll take a truly great performance to beat LSU. The Tigers should come out on top in a low scoring game.
Score: LSU 17, Texas A&M 13
