NFL DFS Bargain Bin- Week 12 Main Sunday Slate Quick Hits
NFL DFS Bargain Bin- Week 12 Main Sunday Slate
Welcome to the Week 12 edition of the NFL DFS Bargain Bin, where the goal is to provide a general overview of the ledger and touch on where there may be some mis-priced players across Yahoo, FanDuel, DraftKings and FantasyDraft in favorable Fantasy Football match-ups.
Before we go NFL DFS Bargain Bin hunting, a few particulars about format and content:
- The nature of the beast with value plays is at least a modest amount (and sometimes substantially more) of risk. After all, these players are usually priced where they are for a reason. Therefore, the Bargain Bin may prove to be a bit more of a rollercoaster ride on some slates than your typical “tout” article!
- Naturally, that doesn’t mean there isn’t upside to be had. All of these selections are therefore suitable for GPPs (and usually avoidable for cash games), and they can often help you accommodate multiple higher-priced studs into your lineup.
- Typically, I’ll suggest players that are value-priced across all four major DFS sites (Yahoo, FanDuel, DraftKings and FantasyDraft). However, there are certainly occasions where one or more site prices a player significantly lower than others. Whenever possible, I’ll typically at least note those players as a “XYZ site(s) special”.
- In this DFS NFL Bargain Bin Quick Hits version, I’ll suggest players that are typically value-priced across all four major DFS sites (Yahoo, FanDuel, DraftKings and FantasyDraft). Naturally, check final pricing before making your lineup decisions, as I am not listing salaries in this edition.
- This is not a position-by-position breakdown, but rather, I’m just identifying games where I think there’s value players in potentially favorable fantasy spots.
- These players are but a sampling of who I feel are some of the best values at each position that week. However, with so many skills players in the NFL, there are certainly others worth considering, especially as late-breaking injury news comes out Sunday morning. Therefore, feel free to utilize this piece as a good guide for where some of the most prominent value lies, but not as an exhaustive list.
- The goal is to recommend truly affordable players, as opposed to, say, a player priced just $300-$400 away from the highest-priced option at his position. I don’t have set-in-stone price limits in mind for each site, but I do consider legitimate affordability a very important criteria.
With those housekeeping items out-of-the-way, I’ll give you my thoughts on where there may be some value spots to exploit on the Week 12 slates!
NFL DFS Bargain Bin- Week 12 Main Sunday Slate Quick Hits
- The 49ers’ skill players certainly walk into a favorable spot against the defensively challenged Buccaneers, even with rookie Nick Mullens at quarterback. .Marquise Goodwin will be an especially attractive option given his elite speed and Tampa’s propensity for giving up the deep ball. The Bucs also give up a league-high 74.7 percent catch rate and a bottom-figure in receiving yards (3,010). Tight end George Kittle may be priced above true value range but is attractive as well, while Matt Breida is also a threat to break off a big run or two against a defense that’s been more vulnerable to the run since Kwon Alexander‘s season-ending knee injury and that will be missing Lavonte David again Sunday.
- On the other sideline, the Buccaneers’ Chris Godwin and Cameron Brate both stand out as interesting value red-zone targets. San Fran has allowed the fourth-most touchdowns to receivers (14), and although Brate’s matchup is a bit tougher, the Niners have yielded four touchdowns to tight ends as well.
- The Browns’ Baker Mayfield is in an interesting spot against a divisional opponent on the road. The Bengals have been vulnerable to the pass all season, and they’ll check into Sunday having allowed the fifth-most passing touchdowns (21). Just as important, they’re surrendering the most rushing yards (278) and second-most rushing touchdowns (three) to quarterbacks, which could certainly spell trouble considering Mayfield’s mobility.
- Things haven’t been much better for Cincy on the ground, as they’ve allowed 10 rushing touchdowns and the third-highest yards per carry (5.0). Nick Chubb thus lines up as a solid value option wherever affordable, with Duke Johnson also in play on full-PPR sites.
- There will undoubtedly be plenty of attention on Odell Beckham, Jr. against the Eagles’ suspect secondary, and rightfully so. However, in terms of value plays with which to attack Philly’s pass defense with, both Eli Manning and Sterling Shepard certainly stand out. Manning could certainly thrive against the Eagles’ 16:4 TD:INT allowed to quarterbacks. Meanwhile, Philadelphia’s unfavorable metrics against receivers include the second-most DK (45.8) and FD (36.3) fantasy points per game allowed.
- The Jets have allowed the fifth-most receptions (150) to receivers and 11 touchdowns to wideouts as well, but the Patriots’ top two wideouts are priced outside of value range. However, for those wanting to go very contrarian in deep-field tournaments, Chris Hogan is certain to be minimally owned after not having logged a reception (on three targets) over the last two games. Nevertheless, he’s healthy and brings some upside, as evidenced by the fact seven of his 23 receptions have gone for over 20 yards. Hogan has also been charged with just a sole drop this season.
- The Jets’ Chris Herndon has certainly been coming on in recent weeks, and he’ll be in play against a New England team that’s allowed the fourth-most receptions (50) to tight ends, along with the second-most touchdowns (seven) to the position.
- Plays abound in the Ravens-Raiders tilt on the Baltimore side, beginning with the dynamic Lamar Jackson. Already confirmed for a second straight start, he’ll be in prime position to produce against an Oakland defense that’s allowed 23 passing touchdowns. Notably, the Raiders have been the second-stingiest team in rushing yards allowed to quarterbacks, but they naturally haven’t come across a runner the caliber of Jackson.

Gus Edwards also presents as an appealing cost-savings play after last week’s breakout performance. No team has given up more rushing yards than the Raiders, which have surrendered 1,310 at a clip of 4.8 yards per carry.
On the Raiders side of the equation, Jared Cook is one value option worth considering, given the short-handed nature of the Oakland receiving corps and the fact Baltimore has allowed a 54-638-3 line to tight ends this season.

Given their recent successes but still reasonable prices, both D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel are under consideration for the Panthers against the Seahawks, although Seattle has tightened up its secondary as the season has gone on.
Chris Carson remains under consideration for the Seahawks, although it’s worth noting that Carolina’s run defense has been among the more stingier in the league.
Given the Cardinals’ persistent troubles stopping the run this season, Austin Ekeler is certainly worthy of consideration for tournaments as a value play. Arizona comes in allowing the second-most rushing yards (1,286), third-most rushing touchdowns (11) and healthy 4.4 yards per carry.
For Arizona, Christian Kirk remains a breakaway threat each time he runs a route, keeping him in play for deep-field tournaments despite the inconsistencies of his quarterback.
The Dolphins’ Frank Gore continues to look like the preferred option for head coach Adam Gase, and in a matchup against one of his old squads, he’s certainly worth considering in tournaments. It’s also worth noting that while Indy has been stingy on a yards per carry basis, they’ve allowed the third-most receptions to running backs (72).
Sticking with Miami, with Ryan Tannehill back at quarterback, there’s a bit more viability to the Dolphins’ pass catchers, although Kenny Stills is likely the most reliable of the bunch at the moment in terms of upside. Danny Amendola is a perennial option on full-PPR sites as well.
On the Colts’ side, Marlon Mack, Jack Doyle, Eric Ebron and Dontrelle Inman especially stand out as value options versus a Dolphins defense that lacks speed at several key positions.
The Broncos’ Phillip Lindsay has become worthy of consideration each week regardless of matchup, and the same holds true Sunday against the Steelers tough run defense. Meanwhile, Jeff Heuerman has shown decent chemistry with Case Keenum, and Pittsburgh has been a bottom-10 defense against tight ends in receptions (58), receiving yardage (627) and touchdowns (four) allowed. However, given his floor, he’s only in play for larger-field contests.
On the Steelers’ side, there’s not much that’s cheap due to their elite offensive talent, but Vance McDonald and Jesse James are both intriguing versus a Broncos defense that’s allowed five touchdowns to tight ends.
